While this foreign born A list television actor who is a recent Academy Award winner/nominee was on a radio show, his significant other was having coffee with her supposed ex. They looked awfully chummy for being exes.

I often snog my lover in Starbucks. It's a method I find that works well when I'm trying to hide my infidelity.

I think marrying for convenience and leading another lifestyle by their rule's a game some play to have certain qualification to act and for better publicity.. as long as no one is hurt or being blackmailed..
You don't know that it was as high visibility as a "Starbucks" and Hunter seems to me to have a remarkable disregard for certain proprieties - witness that hissy=fit she threw on one of their early red carpets. People with certain kinds of emotional issues or grandiose views of themselves are often careless in this way. The real issue here is not where they were, but what "remarkably chummy" really means, i.e., were they really snogging or being affectionate beyond what is appropriate for a newly married expectant mother. Perhaps Hunter and Cumberbatch have an "understanding". Perhaps the witness is lying. Perhaps the man wasn't really an ex. Anything is possible but the relevant issue isn't where they were doing it but whether they were doing it, which neither you nor I really know. Pity someone didn't take a photo and submit it.
It certainly jibes with the weird paps and early red carpets these two showed the world. If this was unplanned and Cumberbatch grimly bit the bullet and put on a ring it, it wouldn't surprise me if they combined, as it were. to give the baby a name and security (assuming it's his of course), with the understanding that each was free to follow his or her inclinations elsewhere. They wouldn't be the first pair in the entertainment industry to set something like that up. Of course, it doesn't jibe with Cumberbatch's professed desire to set up home and hearth and "fill it with love and children". I wonder if someone's following Hunter?
Mmmmm - he and Hunter split in 2010, that's five years ago, and last year he married an Italian textile designer, and they had a baby son last May. Seems on the face of it like an unlikely candidate. The thing is, except for Gambles, who denies ever dating her, no one seems to be able to dig up any other "ex" between Shawcross and Cumberbatch, Curious, very curious. Unless it's (cough cough) Harvey Weinstein . . . or someone in those circles. . .
Well, it could be that she and CS never got over each other. Sometimes people marry the rebound guy/girl only to realize they made a mistake shortly after. It happens...as for other possible candidates? Well, the mother of all BenSop blinds said something about SH's babydaddy being insolvent and hiding money in shell companies. That point to someone who is either in the financial sector or who has close ties to people who are. As for Gambles, he is still on the list. They may have not dated formally but friends in NYC knew that SH had a longterm lover. Said that he was a musician and that her engagement to BC came as a shock. Make of that what you will...
Because they are in the public eye celebs in open relationships are usually discreet. Especially BC with his focus on acting like the 'Proper Brit'. Even if SH is free to see other people BC is not going to be ok with her being flagrant. That makes him look like a cuckold and a gullible fool, it makes her look like a whorish woman. I don't think either of them want that kind of publicity. No, SH is still in contact with her lover/babydaddy IMO and BC is playing along because it's part of the PR narrative. If she is blackmailing him with something it's going to be even more difficult to extricate himself from her con. Imagine playing dad to another man's kid under duress...
Certainly they could have split and moved and then realized they'd given up too soon and no one else ever made them happy . . . I don't accept anything Gambles said just because he said it, but "a lover in New York" is pretty broad territory. Ditto hiding money in shell companies - you don't need to be in the financial industry to do that, you only need to know someone in that industry who knows how to do that.
As for blackmail - the entertainment industry is a sink - only being gay with someone having videos of Cumberbatch having sex with men, or Cumberbatch having sex with underage children he keeps tied up in his basement could make that work. I think the only blackmail was his own careless dick; clever girl.
My curiosity still anchors to the practical that can be known: who saw Hunter and whoever, what were they really doing, and why wasn't a photo taken surreptitiously and sent in?
I'm interested in practical details - is Enty getting this from trolling other sites, or is someone like "don'tcallme jane" (how quickly that sank, and that was the most interesting bit of anything regarding the Sun of all the stuff floating in cyberpspace) feeding him bits in regular intervals.
Where are you, dontcallmejane? Don't think all of us have forgotten you - we haven't. Still pondering that terribly interesting bit in the DM . . .
