the project has quietly changed its status to "TV movie" rather than TV pilot/series, which I think is an important change. HBO hasn't been doing that well lately. Its facing a lot more competition from streaming and cable than it was 2012ish when Girls started. They thought their new show Vinyl would be the sh/t, but its not and more or less crashed and burned...besides Game of Thrones, there arent as many 'must see' crown jewels.

Or when you're exceptionally well-connected. The definition of "good work" is totally relative. I tried to watch Girls various times and found it unbearable. I guess if you produce successful work that makes enough money for the relevant powers that be, and you're well-connected enough, you'll continue to work, even if you're modestly talented like Leba Dunham.

Thx emme. The assumption was because she's a double(Enty terms) trip,e threat even, clearly she can Greenlight a show they give her money to produce. That's what I meant by giving her a show..I was unaware she had a pilot in works-TV movie- as it is lol, but there is talent there and she'll like.y find an audience. I just think a departure And doing something totally different would benefit her. But as they say, if it ain't broke....

I think if she manages to do other stories w/more diversity, she'll last, otherwise her fanbase will remain the bubble that it is (other versions of her)
Know of someome that worked on "Girls" about 2-3 seasons ago, and said Lena was very friendly and pleasant. Not sure who else this could be?!

My first thought was Alison Williams since Lena is more than an actress, and Jemima Kirke & Zosia Mamet aren't B+

@Kate, I totally agree- I tried 3x to watch Girls- i couldn't get past 20 minutes tops..unbearable is the perfect term for it.
This is a good guess, Rossum is a big phony, she tries to act sweet in interviews but is extremely hateful on the set and in real life.
