Blind Item #15

This A list director does not have any friends who are women of color so it shouldn't come as a shock that she has no idea how to write for women of color. She has always whitewashed much like another famous family member.

Sophia Coppola?

She cut the slave character from Beguiled. Could be true or made up because of this.

Trying to think of a major role for a minority in a coppola movie...

Apocalypse Now had a young Laurence Fishburne in it as one of the boys on the boat and the boat captain was a black guy, too.

My question is so what? I am certain there are plenty of black directors and writers who have no idea how to present white characters as anything other then stereotyped trucker cap wearing racists.

Dagos are minorities, and the Godfather is about them.

Sophia Coppola obviously the Beguiled is set during the civil war of course there were slaves there. If you watch Coppola films they are VERY WHITE. I think only one the Bling Ring had an Asian character and that actress was not even completely Asian she was half white too.

alas, a lot of white/non-black people don't have black friends. There is a big divide in this country, and it's not really Sophia's fault. But she should try to diversify her films anyway.

Lawrence Fishbourne was in Coppola's film, "Rumblefish."

You sound like an idiot. And a trucker cap wearing racist.

You sound like a mentally ill SJW. Go crawl back in your safe space. And your thumbs downing of all my posts is totally juvenile. Grow up.

A good writer could write for anyone, how hard is it to find out about human experience???/

Run along trick, I'm sure they miss you back at Reddit or whatever sewer you crawled out of.

Coppola's Cotton Club movie had Gregory Hines, Lonette McKee, Lawrence Fishburne as stars in it.

Fuck off loser. Maybe Donald Trump tweeted something for you to have a nervous breakdown about.

The Bling Ring was based on a true story that just happened to have a Korean and no blacks.

DancerDiva said...

She doesn't live in West Hell. She lives in Hollywood. Not the most isolated place in the world with no diversity.

DancerDiva said...

Yes, she took the two black slave characters in the book out of the movie. She claimed it was because she didn't want to "diminish the role of slavery". Mmm hmm...okay girl.

Jennie said...

Damn, did I hit a nerve and trigger you? Take a hint from all the thumb-downs you got and shut the fuck up before you make a bigger ass of yourself.

Green Carmen Ghia said...

A black writing partner would solve that problem very easily.

Jallen said...

But others named more, you idiot.

Go away, skank.
