Yes, and I think that's how that woman wormed her way into Mariah's life in the first place. The kind of person that does this can be persistent/obsessive enough to stalk someone lucid (in my case, not only is she joining groups I'm in, schmoozing people I know/venues I frequent—now she strategically sits near my things so I'm forced to come near her, last week she stood near my coat, this week my bags, I'm scared she'll be hanging in the changing room when it's time). It should be SUPER easy to manipulate someone with substance abuse issues like Mariah.
I know it's wrong for people to abuse substances, but just because someone drinks a lot doesn't mean she deserves to be taken advantage of!
