Aw, poor Pete. I really root for him.
Really like him on SNL, especially for being fearless and funny in his comedy about challenges that so many keep secret. If this is him, truly hope gets the help needed to get clean and healthy again.

SNL has been irrelevant and crap since Norm left. Period. The end.
I was with some friends in Santa Monica. We were chatting after dinner out on 3rd St. A guy I didn't know came up and started talking to my friends. They were all thrilled to see him. There was some fun banter and laughing for a few minutes. Then he left. I said "Nice, funny guy. Who is he?" They all stared at me unbelieving. I honestly didn't know who he was. (I wasn't watching TV at that time at all, focused as I was on film work.) They said "It's Phil." I'm like "Phil who?" "Phil Hartman." I still didn't know who he was. They explained to me.... Three months later he was dead. A genuinely nice and real guy, at least in the five minutes I knew him.

Word on the street is Pete and Ariana Grande are hooking up. Met when she was on SNL. Both just broke up with their partners, one soon after the other.
I still watch SNL. It’s had its ups and downs over the years but for the last decade it’s been consistently good.

He was a fav of mine. Thanks for the anecdote. It's funny how you don't recognize stars IRL. I watched Alyssa Milano get her rosary tattoo in Hollywood and had no clue. Didn't believe my cousin when she told me the next day. Freaked out months later when I saw a pic of her showing it off in the Enquirer.
