Today's Blind Items - The Path

I was going to call this The Church, but there is already a series titled that and didn't want everyone to confuse this church with that church, although, they are now doing basically the same thing. Anyway, the celebrity cult set the tone by using celebrities to draw people into their flock. This other church which didn't start in this country has long tried to do the same thing. Over the past two years they have gone away from their pastors being the celebrities, to the actual celebrities being the celebrities to get people in.

The face of that is not their most famous member, but one that was specifically recruited for the purpose. How was he recruited? Through his wife who has been a lifelong member. She travels the world preaching about how wonderful the church is. It is amazing how much she travels internationally to do that. It is amazing how much money gets funneled from the churches in the US to the ones overseas she visits. Considering the church's history off covering up the abuse of multiple minors by a leader of the church, it is crazy that the place they are really expanding is a country with a handful of extradition treaties and an age of consent can be as low as 15. 

The thing is, the actor husband is an idiot and the church and the wife would like to replace him with someone who has better prospects and has a few more brain cells. They just don't like the idea of divorce drama so are sticking with the idiot for now.
