Nadya Suleman Gets Probation And Community Service in Welfare Fraud Case

After almost a two year wait, Nadya Suleman finally had her day in court yesterday in her welfare fraud case. Octo-Mom was accused of accepting welfare and Medi-Cal payments in 2012 despite making $30,000 over the maximum to claim such benefits. Because Suleman paid back almost $25,000 in benefits she received, her felony charges were reduced to misdemeanors and she was ordered to perform 200 hours of community service and two years of probation. While she is performing those 200 hours of community service the State will be on the hook for paying for someone to watch her kids so it will probably cost the state more than what she paid back. The investigation also cost more than the net benefits she received. I wonder also what kind of financial pressure having to pay back that money put on her. That is a lot of money to come up with when you are trying to raise 12 kids. In 2013 she didn't make over the limit which means she is raising kids on less than $119K a year. I guess another reality show or porn video is in her not too distant future.

Why The Octomom Welfare Fraud Prosecution Is Idiotic

Octomom aka Nadya Suleman is being charged with welfare felony fraud. While I applaud the State of California for going after welfare cheats to protect my tax dollars, someone higher up in government needs to put a stop to this whole thing now because it is the biggest waste of money ever.

Octomom is accused of failing to report $30,000 in earnings in one year which allowed her to continue to receive welfare benefits for her family of 14. She didn't earn enough the year before or after to violate the rule. An investigation was launched after tabloids publicly reported her income. She faces five years in jail if convicted.

Already the state has spent about $25K in the investigation. If the case goes to trial the state will spend another $50K minimum.

According to an LA Times article, the CA the government sets aside about $2000 per child per month in foster care. That includes about $800 per month that goes to the foster parent. If Nadya is convicted of the crime and sentenced to the maximum her kids would likely end up in foster care. 14 kids. 60 months. 840 months total at $2000 per month. $1,680,000.00 is how much the taxpayers of California would have to pay. Minimum. Many of the kids are special needs children and require expensive care.  Plus, the 14 kids would be split. Plus the children would be in danger of increased abuse and many other factors that can't be calculated.

There is also the cost of incarcerating and then the parole and probation of Octomom. There will be the additional costs of hearings after her release to get her children back. Potentially, taxpayers are looking at millions of dollars out of their pockets for her making an extra $30,000 in one year. Ridiculous. I understand the need to punish the crime but someone needs to look at this realistically and not just grab for headlines.

Octomom Is Getting Evicted Again

Just like death and taxes, there is one other sure thing in this world. Octomom is being evicted again. Nadya Suleman and her 14 kids will soon hit the streets. I bet she would love nothing more than to have the child labor laws repealed so her kids could get out there and work for her and bring her some money for drugs and booze. I bet she is regretting that decision back in the day to have 14 kids and that life might be a little better if she had stopped at one or even better, none. Just think how much money she would have if she had done that. She would have welfare money and all the money she was collecting under all those student loan programs and nothing to spend it on but herself.

She has actually been living rent free but the guy who was doing that as a favor sold the house and the new owner wants Nadya and her kids gone. Apparently the bank who gave the new owner the loan is insisting on it because of the damage the kids have done to the house and that it is losing value everyday because of the way they destroy it. When you have 14 kids it is pretty tough to find someone to let you shack up for a bit. This is not like borrowing a couch to sleep on for a few days, this is 14 kids plus Nadya plus whatever other people she brings with her. Would you want her living in your house?

Nadya Suleman Skips Out On Rent - Trashes House

It continues to shock me how Nadya Suleman continues to really be what seems like an awful mother, but nothing ever happens to her. In the latest episode of Octomom, she skipped out on paying her rent and abandoned her home with her kids in the middle of the night last week. Radar is reporting that the landlord entered the house and that it was a disaster area. Not only was there a lot of damage, but there were empty bottles of booze and beer all over the house and there was graffiti all over the walls and the whole house smelled like urine. So, I wonder first of all where she is living right now and if anyone will ever rent to her again.

Octomom Accused Of Welfare Fraud

According to TMZ, Nadya Suleman is being accused of welfare fraud. The mother of 14 children is apparently entitled to receive welfare as long as she makes under $119K a year. I wonder how many people who make $119K a year actually get welfare. I understand she has 14 kids, but you would think you could still make it work if you are getting that much money a year. Anyway, Octomom made over $200K last year so should not be getting any welfare. Is this her fault? Did she submit false documents? What if you made $200K last year, but have not made any this year?

Nadya Suleman Has A Medical Marijuana Card

Goodness knows that if you have 14 kids and no job other than using your body to clean shiny metal poles in a club, then you might have some stress. Apparently just two days after Nadya got out of rehab for her Xanax addiction she got a medical marijuana card. Yeah, one addiction for the other. She has not given up booze either. According to TMZ, Nadya only uses pot in food form and only when the nannies are not present. You know, in other words, when she has no help. Presumably she boozes when solo too. You know that those kids are probably into those brownies or will be. I don;t see her locking them away and thinks the kids won't find her secret hiding spot. The thing is, if you take the kids away, they will all be split up.

Octomom is Boozing And Using Drugs Again

While many of you spent Valentine's Day in the warm embrace of your special someone or a bath filled with $240 worth of pudding, Nadya Suleman spent hers on a stripper pole in Florida. On Saturday, Child Protective Services raided her house after a tip that Octo is back using drugs, and drinking and has blackouts because of her substance abuse problems. The tip came from a former nanny and the investigation is ongoing. Last time CPS came out they didn't find anything, but Octo did head to rehab shortly after. I guess she will go again, but then she will need money so it will be porn or back to the stripper pole.
