Apparently Sarah Silverman doesn't feel bad about taking money from people and not doing anything in return. Much like a psychic hotline or a phone sex operator, Sarah appears to charge by the minute. In a show in London this past weekend, Sarah had a concert. The ticket prices were all about $100. How long did Sarah perform? 40 minutes. That's it. That includes an encore because she didn't have one. There was no opening performer. That is the most ridiculous thing ever. Plus, she didn't feel bad about it and didn't understand why the audience was taunting her and booing her.
Eventually the promoters forced to go back on stage and do a Q&A in order to keep the crowd from demanding their money back. Since the show had almost 4,000 people, neither Sarah nor the promoter wanted that. Sarah performed no new material in the show at all and she admitted to the crowd she had none. Ummm, you would think that she would always be working on new stuff. Any stand up that has worked as long as she has and writes their own stuff would be willing to talk about almost anything for as long as you let them up there. It might not all be the best but there are things they probably have worked on for years they could talk about. To the audience it seemed as if Sarah only cared about the $300,000 she got for the 40 minutes, and when the audience would not stop jeering them, told them to go home and she walked off the stage.
I'm guessing the rest of her UK tour will even be less pleasant.

I thought I'd read that her opening act no-showed, not that she didn't have one.
That said, she didn't have to be a bitch about people wanting their money's worth.
that's too bad...I think she's hilarious but I also would not pay a hundy to see her....

she sucks. the only thing i ever laughed at where she was concerned was the video w. matt damon. and that was because he was funny.
I love her, but its lousy to have been so unprepared like that. What, she couldn't have performed old stuff? It might have still been new to them.
I read it was 50 minutes.. and her opening act came down with something.
I saw that she couldn't even deliver the material without refering to notes. We like our comedians sharp and smart over here, and any stand-up worthy of the name should be able to riff on whatever comes to mind. Her reputation is blown in the UK.
God I hate her so much. It KILLS me that she is so popular. ugh.

She has done some really funny stuff - I like that she can be so unbelievably inappropriate from time to time, but when Sarah Silverman is bad, she is REALLY bad.
Don't find her really funny. Give me Fry and Laurie and Atkinson any time over Silverman and her crap versions of humour. I'm sorry she's been inflicted upon the Brits, but part of me says better you than me.
Im not surprised she didnt have any new material, she's a one trick pony - and it really wasnt that funny in the first place. Give me Dylan Moran, Russel Howard or Frankie Boyle anyday.
Americans do many things better than the Brits, but when it comes to comedy i know where my money would go.

She's crass, vulgar, & identifies to the lowest common denominator in society. Why anyone would book her for a show is beyond me.
I'm sure the redneck morans that will vote McPain/Failin will LOVE her show.
oh good..I thought I was the only one who thought she sucked...only thing I liked her in was a guest starring bit on Monk. I've wondered if Jimmie Kimmel was a masochist..
I think she's annoying anyway. Shouldn't her 15 minutes of fame be up soon?
did anybody point out that $100 is like 60 pounds ... not that bad really in london, one of the world's most expensive cities
but she def needs some new material, i saw her live about 6 years ago and she had some of the same jokes in Jesus is Magic
