Today's Blind Items
This young Golden Globe winner/nominee actress who is probably C list, but with B list name recognition sticks primarily to movies and has won multiple awards. What doesn't stick to her apparently is food. Last night at dinner, she ate dinner, excused herself and promptly rid herself of it in the bathroom. She came out after and ordered dessert. Another trip to the bathroom and she was ready to go home. To be fair, my spy saw her go into the bathroom after dessert, but didn't follow our actress to find out if she threw up dessert as well. Her male companion paid the bill, but I'm wondering why even bother to go out or buy our actress a meal if that is what she is going to do.

Christina Ricci has been so up-front about battling eating disorders. It's really sad if she's relapsed.

There is absolutely no way to determine who this is. Way too many women have eating disorders caused by Hollywood ideals. It follows that Hollywood has to have the eating disorders in order to start the ridiculous standard.
sorry, how does this spy know that she was throwing up? because she went to the bathroom in between her main course and dessert? As someone who used to live with two bulliemics, I can tell you that this doesn't mean anything.
how does the spy know she wasn't snorting coke in the bathroom rather than puking? makes you skinny too.

Emmy Rossum? She was nominated for Phantom of the Opera.
It seems obvious that the spy happened to be in the bathroom at the same time as the actress but did not follow her in after dessert. The blind reads as if there was no doubt about the actress throwing up at least once but doesn't claim she did it twice because they weren't in there after dessert too.

Lots of people say that Enty said an Oscar winner is A-list for life, but I can't remember/find that post.
Emily Rossum is a really good guess. C list/movies/young. Has she actually won any awards? For Enty to say "young", I really think the person has to be under 30... which eliminates quite a few guesses.

I am liking the Rossum guesses. In fact, one of the running jokes on the Lainey Gossip site is that Lainey has turned Emmy's last name into a verb that means "to vomit" and uses it often "I almost Rossumed" or a noun that means vomit "That statement was such Rossum"
Mooshki, I would probably never find the post either, but I believe that Ent said winning an Oscar makes you B-list for life, not A as some people mistakenly state. I think the logic behind this was that even if you never return to your 'glory' days having that Oscar under your belt generally guarantees that you'll always get work if you want it, and will be invited to most red carpet events.
As to the blind, C-list career with B-list recognition to me means that most of us will recognize the person's name and face but without wiki or imdb, we would probably struggle to recall anything the person has done recently (either b/c the person has not worked in a while or b/c the person has not appeared in any big or even moderate hits in a while). In this case I would say Christina Ricci and Emmy Rossum both fit. I can't think of any other guesses for the moment.

but in all seriousness, i hate that hollywood and the media does this to women (and men). it's bad enough she feels she has to do this to herself, but to do it in between courses? i understand it's a serious psychological disorder, but without the pressure to be and look perfect, would such a disorder exist?
maybe they knew she was puking b/c of the heaving sounds coming from the stall, then the following splash!

Off topic, but does Emmy Rossum have the most accomplished handlers in the history of public relations, or what? She's everywhere -- every freaking red carpet event, every fashion magazine, the opening of every high-end store; the opening of every high-end door, it seems. Yet her resume seems to consist of nothing but the film version of The Phantom of the Opera.
Maybe barfing up five-star meals is just another facet of her branding strategy.
don't know the answer to this, and quite frankly, blinds like this are silly. first of all, most bulimics are generally average weight and not scary skinny like anorexics... or cokeheads. that, and i'm no expert, but if you are puking up every meal, wouldn't you be able to do it quietly enough that other people couldn't hear you in a public bathroom? maybe puking is always loud?

WOW, almost everyone agrees that it's Cristina Ricci and/or Emmy Rossum, so I'm guessing it could be either one of the two.

ok. if you drink enough liquid the puke is not loud.
you can tell if someone pukes- at least if they use their hands by looking at the hands and notice callouses.
also the stomach actually 'poofs' out more b/c of churning and acids even if your hip bones are jutting out.
oh, and usually the teeth are a clue as well but all H/W has caps nowadays.
and yes, I know from from experience. When I was a very little girl I remember listening to Karen Carpenter b/c friends older sister (who puked) had her music.
Me- not for 15 years even with quitting smoking & (aging) gaining 25 lbs. why does smoking have to be bad for us (dammit janet)? I am serious when I say this- Running the business by myself, I'm on the clock at 60 or so hours a week.
I don't have the time to be a puker even if it would make me skinny again.

Either way, i'm always sad when i read stories like these. I mean, when i got down to a UK size 6 (us 2), everyone i knew was freaking out around me; anorexia (or bulimia) is a vicious battle and i can't imagine being pressured to be even thinner than i was - i was struggling as it was. I think it's crazy. And very sad. I think i said that already... I'm not going to trot out the usual 'men prefer a girl with meat on them' line, but the keira knightly's of this world are not attractive - IMO. But once you're in that cycle NOTHING will change your mind. Trust.

B list name recognition for someone who won a Best Supporting Oscar over a decade ago as a child makes sense, and as far as her career and her show she would be essentially C list this minute.
Plus she is painfully thin these days far more so than say 5 years ago, I think Enty mentioning her male companion is a hint that we might know of him too and as everyone knows now she is living with her co-star Stephen Moyer, plus my unfortunate in-depth knowledge of eating disorders make me acknowledge that at 26 she is at a prime age for 'controllable' Bulimia.
I'm thinking Paquin too (even though I think she's awesome), she won her golden globe last year for lead actress in drama (woo True Blood!) and has won oscar etc etc. I think if Enty had said something about a young Oscar winner it would have been a bit too easy... thoughts?

I don't think X-Men makes someone A-List... Great movies, but doesn't an A-Lister make...
My initial thought was Emily Blunt. I know a lot of CDaNers like her, and I find that when someone is well-liked they are rarely guessed.
I have also noticed many ppl don't like rossum, so i'm not surprised that she is a big pick for this blind. She didn't win the Golden Globe tho.
Some other good guesses are Ricci, Heigl, America Ferrara, Keira Knightley, Kyra Sedgwick (albeit too old?), ScarJo, and Portman. I hate these eating disorder blinds, it could be anyone!
Oh God, please don't let it be Paquin and Vampire Bill. I love those two!
I'm way late to this party, but...Don't most "Mias" have chipmunk cheeks b/c of the glandular swelling from all the vomiting over time?
Example would be the pathetic-looking Rachel Zoe having such swollen-looking jaws/cheeks (she's square-jawed anyway, but I think hers are even more pronounced).
selena - Rachel Zoe bulimic?? You don't say! Seriously, this makes total sense....I thought her looking like a bulldog's head on a toothpick was just a genetic thing, but you may have a point there!
has emmy rossum done TV? the blind says the actress sticks "primarily to movies" which makes it sounds like she may do a little TV. or I guess broadway, if you want to get technical.

@ Katie - re: Emmy Rossum having good PR people. OT, but I recall a couple of years ago I worked at a company that was located on the Sunset Strip in LA and I recall seeing Emmy (no makeup whatsoever, looked so plain jane I didn't realize it was her til someone mentioned it after). Anyway, the male 'companion' she was with was some sort of power-player in the entertainment industry (can't recall his name now). The reason this stuck out to me was because when the guy walked in, he wanted one of our products (sorry I can't say what it is because I still work for the company, but trust, it is not as scandalous as it sounds), handed over his Black Amex, didn't care what the cost was, he wanted it NOW but wasn't a d**k about it, just very much accustomed to getting what he wanted. Anyway, I just recall wondering why she was with him (this was at the height of her fame/exposure for Phantom) because he was butt U-G-L-Y. Maybe she worked it over on him..? That's definitely one way to keep yourself relevant in Hwood.
Oh and my guess is either Ricci or Paquin. As Katie pointed out, Rossum isn't known for much other than Phantom of the Opera a few years back.
