This C list film actor from a trilogy has had long-standing problems with his mother. The two have been feuding for years, but have still managed to stay in contact. This last Thanksgiving was the last straw when the family got together and the mother brought home her new boyfriend- the C lister’s best childhood friend.

His mother was Patty Duke.
Patty Duke is bipolar. I'm sure that test any relationship she has. One of the symptoms is reckless behavior which includes promiscuity. I feel sad for them.
Rita - thanks for the link. I remember the Duke-Arnaz scandal but didn't realize the husband was finally found to be the real father.

Sean Austin and Patty Duke...definitely. Sean used to take care of his mom when she was a raging alcoholic. He has a lot of resentment towards her because of it.
Yep, Sean Astin was the first person to come to mind. Would we really say he's C-list, though? I would think LOTR along would have to elevate him to B.
Well, I realize it's not, but the first one that jumped into my head was Sylvester Stallone's mom. Wouldn't that have been a hoot.
This is NOT Patty Duke IMO. She's bipolar and supposedly has it well under control with Lithium. She's also a mental health advocate. Of course things can change, but I read her book and her and her sons are really tight I thought.
Also she's MARRIED.

what about christian bale? he and his mother had a highly publicized feud during the filming of the last batman flick - and while this is not the third batman movie - it is HIS third and his LAST?!?
I ma chiming in late to add that this can't be Patty Duke. She lives in my area, and is often involved with the local community theater. She is married, and reportedly has a good relationship with her sons. I doubt she would bring a new boyfriend to Thanksgiving.
