This former A+ list movie actress who started off on television has convinced herself that to get roles again in movies she needs to lose weight. The actress currently eats at most every other day. Her boyfriend, a former A list celebrity makes her try and eat but she then goes on a rant about how fat she is and that no one cares and that she used to be beautiful and a star and now she is not because she is fat. She weighs about 90 pounds right now.
Meg Ryan (She needs to make some more movies with Tom Hanks. A sequel to Sleepless In Seattle. In the year since the blind it looks like she has put some weight back on and looks good.)

she messed up her face that is why no one will hire her. She must have some serious mental issues to do that to herself. In terms of bad surgery she makes Lohan look like Audrey Hepburn
I'm glad she's gained some weight, but the plastic surgery has wrecked her face.
Why does she even care about making movies again? There are few good roles out there anyway for women in her age group and she just doesn't cut the mustard for those. They will go to the Helen Mirren's and the Meryl Streep's. Maybe she can go back to the soaps for work or try another profession that doesn't care about what you look like. Meg is striking me as someone out of touch with reality. It started with the lips.

I was watching Sleepless in Seattle the other day--Meg was so naturally beautiful. What a shame.
I never thought she looked to surgucal. So is this mellencamp telling her shes fat? Oh no he didnt!

Her schtick was 'sweet and innocent and a little goofy'. It's a schtick that doesn't age well. Can you think of any actor, male or female, who has worked that approach past age 40?

So it's Mellencamp treating her like crap? What a douche. She's always been rail thin--it's her face that is f'd up now that she filled it with all kinds of crap and blew up her lips.

She was on last weeks episodes of Web Therapy and looked soooo painfully thin. Her face looks back to normal, but her weight was shocking. They even mocked her career, which I found humorous.

Meg had never been known for her body. She has always been gangly and awkward to me. She always dressed very schlumpy in her personal life and movie life. Her look was always cute girl next door. Not a beauty. So however cute she used to be she messed up by making herself in recognizable as that person. Get a grip Meg!
Also. Meg? Please stand up straight! Stop wearing combat boots with everything all the time. Or earth sandals. Slumped over big shoe look will not make people think of you as beautiful.
Sounds like Mellencamp is trying to get her to eat more. Not sure if I read the blind here or not but I remember reading one where I got the impression that maybe Meg Ryan didn't have that plastic surgery that fucked up her face of her own valition - that maybe Russell Crowe beat her up and she had to have it to fix the damage. After reading that, I kind of feel bad about saying how awful it looks.
One final note Meg. You're cutesy schtick was horrible in the movie The Women. I was embarrassed for you. And everyone who starred in that awful movie. Debra Messing also horrible.

Meg Ryan had a killer bod in "French Kiss!" I remember wondering how many hours of exercise she put in each day to look like that, and quickly realized that I'm too lazy to try to emulate it, so I got more buttered popcorn instead.
Melanie Griffin is another cutesie one that comes to mind. I'm sure it's hard to get older in Hollywood, but for the love of God, leave your faces alone!!! I thought Sandra Bullock looked odd in The Heat and her shtick is getting old.
And might I also add @Snowy, that neither Meryl nor Helen are waif thin. They ACT.

Well there's a shot of her in NYC from a couple of days ago on Getty and she looked pretty good IMO.
Why is everyone getting all riled up about Mellencamp? It says the boyfriend MAKES HER TRY TO EAT, but she goes off on a rant about being fat. Nothing negative said about the boyfriend at all.

Yah, I'm not sure why Mellencamp is getting the blame and hate. From the blind he is supportive and there is nothing negative said about him. From what she did to her face before she even started dating JM implies she has self image problems and issues with the way she sees her self. She and her plastic surgeon really messed up a pretty woman.
She does look better in the pic posted but in the webvideo she still looks bad to me. The camera tries to avoid any close ups and MR is constantly moving her head around so you can't see her face for too long.
I feel sorry for her and what being married to Dennis Quaid probably did to her self esteem.
AB - I agree. The women could have been a cute movie but it wasn't done well. Deborah Messing was so bad and Jada was even worse.
I think Meg could have aged well, like Diane Keaton if she had stayed away from all those plumpers.

I have never heard anything about Russell Crowe being physically violent with meg Ryan so that is a huge accusation on your part unless you have evidence.
I think she started plastic surgery well before Crowe but whatever.

i think it is really sad to see what this talented lady has done to herself
I used to love her clear back in her soap opera days-and it was clear then that she was something special
I wish she would have left her face alone......and quit being so hard or her looks......it would have been much better
I remember thinking back when Meg and Heather Locklear and other assorted actresses were selling themselves as actresses based in the cutesy all American girl persona... How well is that going to age? Couldn't wait to see how these golden girls, and they were GOLDEN back then, would translate their looks/image to the world when they were older. Guess I know now and am disappointed that they couldn't come up with a more authentic and grown up version of themselves.
