Her voice has been gone for awhile. She tried to sing live on Oprah, years ago and sounded very weak and claimed that she is not used to singing live in the morning. Whatever!
This why they should be lipsynching performances- especially when charging $200 a ticket.
How rough for her. If she were a rocker, it wouldn't matter so much and she could afford to live hard and smoke and drink a lot, but her career was built on having a great voice rather than charisma or power singing. she wasn't even on pitch.

It actually sounded like her monitor went out. She was all over the place trying to find the key. Only when her back up singers came in did she get back on track. But her voice is not what it once was.

Mimi has never been great at large venues. She gets stage fright and it throws her off. And her voice has changed a lot over the years. If you don't keep up the training and practice, you're going to start losing range. I always wondered why she didn't do opera or stage work with that phenomenal voice, but she got sucked in by that snake Tommy Mottola and he messed her up big time. Tool.
Mariah's songs are the hardest to sing. Even with Barbra and Whitney, it was more about belting than all the inflections Mariah does. It was just one difficult part of the song, and that her high-pitched feminine voice has preserved this long is an unparalleled feat. Give her a break!
Her voice has been gone for a while.
I saw her several years ago in the San Diego Sports Arena and her voice was awesome. That old place isn't the best acoustically. Mariah hit all the high notes.
In the video I watched she was so off tune it was unbelievable. I didn't realize she'd fallen off this badly.

She has a lot of nerve charging hundreds of dollars for tickets and then singing like that.
This doesn't sound like a problem with her vocal chords, it sounds like the rumours about her turning deaf are true. What a waste.. Sad.
That fact that enty capitalized MAJOR Voice gives me the impression that this in fact might be MV.
God knows she sounded horrible and this would definitely shock the music industry to its core unlike Brittney or JLo.
