Denver Gives Standing Ovation To Richie Sambora

Last night Bon Jovi played Denver. Instead of hiding shamefully in the corner or even staying home, Richie Sambora took front and center and was given a standing ovation by the crowd when he had the stage to himself for a solo.

When Jon Bon Jovi introduced Sambora the crowd got to its feet. "Hello Denver," he said, as the crowd cheered. "I just want to thank everyone for their support. Sometimes friends need the help of their friends to get by. This next song is one that keeps coming back in my life and is current again ... ." The crowd stayed standing and applauding as Sambora started playing "These Days."

I guess in Denver they might not have heard about Richie getting arrested for suspicion of DUI with two little girls inside and his girlfriend. It doesn't really matter whether Richie Sambora beats the charges and walks, the fact remains that he did not make a good decision. Instead of facing up to that mistake and doing something about it, he instead hit the road to earn some extra money and to get the love and adulation from fans that he certainly does not deserve.

He should be in rehab again right now, or at least trying to get his life back on track. He should be kissing his daughter's ass each and every second as well as the asses of the woman he was with and her child. He sure as hell should be kissing the ass of Heather Locklear who should have already gone into court to keep Sambora away from their daughter unless supervised.

But, nope, Richie is out on the road, living it up and just turning this into another, aww shucks rock star kind of moment. The fans in Denver enabled that behavior. They should have made his life miserable the entire time he was on stage.

Richie tells Heather: I Messed Up

Just three days before he suddenly checked into a rehab facility on June 6, Richie Sambora found himself calling his ex-wife, Heather Locklear for support. And despite their nasty split, Locklear was ready and willing to comfort the rocker when he was down.”

“Heather was shocked by the call,” a friend of the actress tells Star. “She’d never heard Rickie so out of sorts!” Or apparently, so remorseful, “He apologized to Heather for ‘the mess’ he had made of their 12-year marriage. He said he’s had a lot of time to think recently and he regretted hurting her and splitting up their family when their daughter, Ava, needed both her parents.” Heather’s response to her ex’s disturbing state? “She knew Richie [had been] having problems,” says her friend. “She told him, ‘You need to confront your issues.’ She urged him to seek professional treatment – not just for his own sake but for Ava’s!”

Although the nature of Sambora’s problem has been kept quiet, a friend of the guitarist tells Star that his drinking started to spiral out of control after he and Heather separated. “I remember a Bon Jovi concert in Florida in February 2006 where Richie was drinking so heavily, we all began to worry that he could have a sever problem,” says the friend. “Everyone knew he was devastated. Heather was the love of his life.’

His drinking quickly escalated, says another source. “In March 2006, Richie fell in the shower and broke a bone in his arm. He was in so much discomfort he started washing down painkillers with vodka!” Then, after his dad and “best friend” Adam Sambora died of lung caner in April 2007, the musician “went into a tailspin,” says his friend.

Happily, Sambora seems to be making progress toward recover. On June 13, a Bon Jovi’s rep announces he had successfully completed rehab and “continues to receive outside support.” Friends say that support group includes his Bon Jovi band mates and the other ex, Denise Richards.

“Jon [Bon Jovi] will do anything to see that Richie gets the help he needs and will watch over him on the road,” says Sambora’s friend. “Everyone is pulling for him – he’s one of the nicest guys in the business.”

Heather still has a place in her heart for her ex, “Richie’s finally getting the help he needs, and Heather will be there every step of the way.”

What Does It Take To Endanger A Child?

Richie "I should have a wing named after me in rehab" Sambora was charged with two counts of DUI, but prosecutors declined to file any child endangerment charges against Sambora. Sambora allegedly had a blood level of .13 which is almost double the legal limit of .08.

There were two minors in the car when Sambora was pulled over. Two kids. My feeling is that if Richie was involved in an accident and the kids got hurt, then and only then would they have been endangered. Apparently as long as you just drink and drive, kids in the car are in no danger and the kids on the road with their parents in other cars are in no danger.

From what TMZ was told, the rank and file police officers didn't want Richie charged with child endangerment. Why? Is he going to play a free concert for the cops and say, "thanks." Are they running around on the weekends reliving their high school days by hitting on chicks with big hair and singing "Livin On A Prayer."

What the prosecutors are saying by declining to add the charge is that it is perfectly fine to go ahead and drink and and drive and go ahead and bring the kids along while you do so. "Hell, if you have a big enough car we don't even care if they are in a seat belt or child seat. Strap them onto the hood if you want. We don't want to inconvenience a celebrity by alleging they were endangering a kid. Call ahead next time and we will go ahead and let you have the whole highway just to yourself. Oh, and when the kids become teenagers, go ahead and let them head over to the clubs on Sunset. We know they aren't 21 or anything but we think it is ok for them to go ahead and drink underage."

Denise Richards And Richie Sambora Hooking Up Again

Denise Richards never really moves away from her comfort zone. It is kind of like the person who will never try new foods because they don't know what something else will taste like. Sure, they get heartburn from their regular foods, but they could get much worse if they tried something new. It is the only way I can explain why Denise Richards hangs out with Charlie Sheen in a non sharing custody kind of way and why she would continue to have midnight sex with Nikki Sixx or get back together with Richie Sambora. The pair were spotted over the weekend getting all touchy feely at dinner and then left the place arm in arm. What does she see in these guys? Obviously she likes the bad boy type. And of course that has really worked out well for her in the past. She likes guys who have been or continue to abuse drugs and alcohol. Again, this has worked out really well for her. She has a thing for guys who put their children in dangerous situations. Why do you think she dates these kind of guys? Is it because they are the opposite of her dad? Well, at least it gives me a reason to post one of my favorite photos of Denise back with Richie. Is she or isn't she snorting coke at the beach?

Richie Sambora Pulls Out Of Bon Jovi Tour

For about the next month, or as long as a 30 day stint in rehab would be, Richie Sambora has pulled out of the remaining dates of the Bon Jovi tour. In a statement on the band's website they say that Richie is not playing because of "personal issues." I suppose he could be just wanting to spend some time with his family, but the more likely explanation is that Richie, who has had issues with substance abuse in the past is probably seeking treatment for those issues. he did not join the band for their tour stop in Edmonton last night.

Richie Sambora Begs To Be On Rock Of Love

I get the feeling that Richie Sambora would not mind being the next star to be on Rock Of Love. Apparently not content with the normal groupie attributes, he probably feels that he needs to have 10 or 15 women debase themselves as they vie for his attention. He told Kneepads, "I'm just looking for the right person to have more children [with]." Yeah, if that is not a cry for VH-1 to please call his agent, I don't know what is. It's great that he wants more kids to drive after he has had a few drinks. Maybe he and his ex Heather Locklear can flip a coin to see who gets to drive after a night out at the bar to pick up a child from the babysitter.

Don't Use The Bathroom Richie

Richie Sambora has checked into the Cirque Lodge in Utah to try and overcome his addictions and to hide from Denise Richards. The thought of having sex with Lindsay Lohan in the bathroom did not enter into his decision, although there is now a waiting list for the facility comprised entirely of single guys who want their shot at Lindsay.

Sambora admitted to battling with alcoholism in June after a short detox stint at the UCLA Medical Centre, saying: "I was just drinking too much and I needed to get my life together... It's been a rough year. I'm still in therapy and stuff like that, but it's good. I'm great. I feel fine."The 48-year-old began drinking heavily after a series of blows including splitting with wife and David Spade groupie Heather Locklear as well as girlfriend/stalker/chapstick user Denise Richards.

I'm sure Lindsay will make Richie feel really comfortable.

Are You A Celebrity? Ask A Cop

About 11pm last night Richie Sambora got arrested for DUI. I don't understand why he would get arrested for DUI. See, this is the issue I have with repeat DUI offenders. You know you drink. You know you have been arrested for drinking and driving in the past, so if you must drink, stay at home to do your drinking.

Richie Sambora was in rehab twice last year that we know of. He has shown horrible judgment in the past, namely by dating Denise Richards, but also drinking to excess, not being where he should have been, and not being able to stop drinking even though it led to the collapse of his marriage.

Richie was driving a black Hummer so you know that he could have caused some serious damage to lots and lots of people. I doubt anything would have happened to him, but a black Hummer "driving erratically" late at night will scare anyone who is close or sees it coming.

In the passenger seat with Richie was a woman who police stated "was not a celebrity." Are the police arbiters of who is a celebrity and who isn't? Do they have a chart and add up all her points? Guest spot on King of Queens you get a point. An extra on The George Lopez show, lose a point.

We are just going to take the word of the police that she was not a celebrity? What if it was Heather Locklear who was running away from Jack Wagner? Or, maybe it was Denise Richards who didn't know Richie was even drunk because she was too busy worrying about her chapstick.

Of course, the likely explanation is that it was a hooker or some daughter of a record label boss.

Jon Bon Jovi Says Richie Sambora Is Using Again

The good thing about a Jon Bon Jovi interview? He called Justin Bieber an a-hole. The bad news is that he kind of let the world know Richie Sambora is using again. In an interview with The Standard, Jon said, “It’s getting more and more difficult every day to not just sit here and say something… Because all I can say is this — it’s for personal reasons. He’s been through it before, fortunately for us the same guy who filled in last time was available this time.”

So, he does not come out and say it directly, but he does say Richie has been through it before. Now, he could mean a relationship with Denise Richards which he has done multiple times and which, I could see him leaving the band for. I mean she has five kids right now to raise, plus a Charlie.

Denise Richards & Richie Sambora Call It Quits Again

Well, if Charlie Sheen is going to make his move, now would be the time to do it. Denise Richards and Richie Sambora have broken up again. This would be the third time if I'm not mistaken. The first and third were fairly long, and the second was just a two or three weekend thing. Apparently Richie is a bit volatile lately and if you already have the king of volatility sharing time with your children, you probably don't need another in your life. I think Richie might not be clean any more either which would be contributing to that volatility. I'm not sure why Denise has a need to pick men who have substance abuse issues. Does she think she can fix them or she finds them always being on the edge fun?

Denise Richards & Richie Sambora Have Their Quarterly Date And Sex Party

Once a quarter like clockwork, Denise Richards and Richie Sambora get together for a date and some sex. Well, I am guessing on the sex part. They used to have sex so it is much easier to get back in the sex habit with someone if you have hooked up with them before. I think if they see each other more often than once every few months they realize why they fell apart and Richie gets into his old habits and the next thing you know Denise is sniffing her "makeup" and the whole party comes crashing down. Last seen together in November, the couple were out and about this week.

Richie Sambora Is Gone For Good From Bon Jovi

After 30 years together, Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora have made it official. He is quitting the band or has been fired, depending on who you ask. After years of putting up with his booze and drugs and you know, being a rock star, Jon Bon Jovi got tired of Richie and said he was not welcome back. The group had been testing out a trial separation. Much like in relationships, those rarely work out. You leave, and then you start trying out new things or new people. You start wearing gold chains and wear tight pants. Maybe you start talking with a fake accent. Wait, this is beginning to sound like Gwyneth Paltrow. of course if it was her, then the gold would be Van Cleef and the pants would be wool made from sheep only raised above 20,000 feet and carried down by hand before being cut by Cartier shears and yeah, I could do this all day.

Denise Richards & Richie Sambora Are Back Together

Denise Richards must have some love of guys who are willing to endanger her children. I don't see why else she would let Charlie Sheen take their kids alone or why she would let Richie Sambora and his drunk driving with his kid in the car back into her life. Can she not find another date? Can she not find any other rich guys? I know she has a certain standard of living she expects and I'm pretty sure Charlie keeps her there and if not, I'm pretty sure he would be willing to tip her.

According to The Enquirer the couple have been back together for a few weeks and have only been meeting at Denise's place to avoid all the paps. Uh huh. When is the last time Denise ever avoided a camera? She probably wishes she could make some kind of deal to be photographed 24 hours a day.

Even if the story is crap, I will give points to The Enquirer for at least giving us something interesting to talk about unlike In Touch or something who would probably recycle Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer. Oh, speaking of which I was so expecting a tabloid this week to have Jennifer rushing to his bedside after illness canceled his tour. It probably would have been a life threatening illness and she would have rushed to his side to get married and have babies.

Who Thinks Charlie Sheen And Denise Richards Had Some Ex Sex?

Charlie Sheen released a statement to Extra earlier today about the allegations Denise Richards has directed towards him. Charlie did admit that two years ago, the FBI took all his computers looking for child porn, but gave them back to Charlie after two weeks and he has not heard back from them since.

That's all well and good, but what drew my attention was this little nugget of goodness Charlie there in at the end of almost a page long statement.

"Brooke and I remain committed to the task at hand. These unlawful and diabolical accusations will not distract us from the focus of our resolve. Shortly before unleashing her attack Mr. Richards asked for another baby via a sperm donation, after her divisive attempts at a reconciliation behind Brooke's back failed. She was flat out rejected."

Two things.

(1) Charlie's people are the ones who wrote Mr. Richards instead of Ms. Richards. Maybe this is why Richie Sambora needs treatment.

(2) We already knew about the sperm donation, but I don't recall seeing anything anywhere that Denise tried to get back together with Charlie before she asked him for his sperm. Notice how Charlie says this went on behind Brooke's back and that Denise was flat out rejected.

Doesn't it sound like maybe Denise and Charlie met to discuss some topics and one thing led to another and bing bang boom, they looked at some porn and did the dirty deed. Richie Sambora found out and broke up with Denise. Denise was calling every five minutes giving Charlie updates on whether she was pregnant or not. Brooke couldn't understand why Denise was calling every five minutes instead of her usual once every ten minute plan. Charlie either had a major guilt attack or went on the offensive and told Brooke that Denise was being her usual crazy self and had tried to seduce innocent Charlie, or maybe Charlie said it was a moment of weakness and Brooke forgave him, but Denise was still doing the stalking thing.

Either way, whatever these divisive attempts at reconciliation were, they are probably spectacular and I wonder if the e-mails Brooke has are related to this situation at all. To me this is the best scandal going on out there right now. I'm just waiting for Charlie to piss Brooke off enough or sleep with some other woman and then Brooke will just let it all out. That will be the best day ever.

Buckle Up Everyone

Nicole Richie got her drivers license back last week. How come no one told me? I have been driving in the same city as an on the loose Nicole Richie for 11 days, and didn't know it. Her license was suspended for one year, and that suspension ended last week. Now she is just on a restricted license, which when you are a celebrity means jack crap. For a working stiff it means you can drive yourself to and from work and that's it. For a celebrity though they can claim almost anything is work related because if you are famous enough you will get your photo taken and that contributes to your career success and lets face it, if she wants to go out to dinner she can call the place and say I am coming to eat there, give me $500 and they would probably do it so it becomes work related.

Now, she still does have six more months of DUI classes. Do you think she will make it through the remaining six months without getting busted again? Do you think she learned her lesson? See, I think she did learn her lesson, but that she is very strong willed and has a temper. Therefore I think if she was hammered and got into an argument that her lesson would be forgotten and she would get behind the wheel just out of spite. I'm hoping that the fact she has a child would dissuade her from that, but you never know. I do know that if she pulled a Richie Sambora that Joel Madden would take the kid away from her.

I say she gets pulled over before the six months is up because there is something going on with her that is going to crack here very soon.

Whatever happened to the good old days of rehab? The only person I can think of recently who has done it old school was Keith Urban. Haven't seen him drunk or stoned or doing anything wrong since he got out. I long for the days when stars would basically be in lockdown for a month or two and get straight. Now, they treat it more like a day camp, and when it rains they don't bother showing up. Richie Sambora is done with rehab after a week. A week? You are not even done with the shakes after a week.

Good Deed Or Good Publicity?

This is what my cynicism has done to me. Now, I'm not even sure if a celebrity really wants to help someone who was close to death or if they are just doing it to try and repair their image. Bon Jovi is playing New York this week and Richie Sambora has decided to use his time in New York to bring attention to the plight of Kelly Mahon who has had problems with a brain cyst. It is a tragic story and deserving of some attention, especially considering that Richie and the girl both attended the same high school.

The problem I'm having is that if it were someone else, I would be incline to believe they were being noble and give them a pat on the back and maybe even the top spot in the photos. Instead, what I am left with is conflicting emotions because I feel like Richie or more likely Richie's manager said he needed some positive press so they found a sick kid who needs help and so Richie goes on the air and auctions off some tickets to a show and a chance to meet him whoo hoo!

Make sure if you win the tickets that you bring a photo of Richie out on the beach last year with Denise. I prefer the ones where he looks like a lobster with a big fat belly. Just have him autograph that one.

So, do we believe Richie or is this a ploy to give him some good publicity. I just think that what he should do is devote some time or energy to a cause like MADD or some other project related to drunk driving, or driving drunk with your kids in the backseat. Something like that as opposed to just finding a random girl who is sick and helping her. He hasn't been doing it in any other city, despite I am sure just as many critically ill kids in those cities. He seems to have saved this just for NY with all of its possible publicity.

Kelly, I hope everything works out for you ok. I'm glad you are getting some funds to help pay for your care despite the fact that Richie is an ass. Hopefully other people in NY will be moved and help her out.
