Nicholas Cage?
maybe A-Rod for the baseball player? Or Derek Jeter?
Hmmm what baseball player hangs out with a MALE actor??? I would have said Jeter or A-Rod but I only see them with female stars, not male ones.
a-fraud for the baller...no clue on the actor...juicy!
Wesley Snipes and A-Rod?
Big big financial probs made me think of Snipes. I mean, you can't have bigger financial probs then him at this point.
Oohhh LOVE the WS guess, YOU GUYS ROCK!
Does this A list baseball player expect to get this money back?
Kevin Costner makes baseball movies -- does he have friends who play?
Nic Cage for the actor, Wesley Snipes is below a B+ at this point.
No idea for the ball player, but he's an idiot. Kiss that $$$ goodbye.
I'm going with Nic Cage and A Rod for this one.
Bruce Willis for the actor? Or somebody in the Expendable since I get the vibe they are all doing it for the money.
No idea on the baseball player, but Jeter or A-Rod sound about right.
Tommy gurl Cruise. He has big expenses, and he's being paid scale on his next movie after a string of flops.
I'd say Kevin Costner, because he decided to buy a minor league team...and base them in my hometown (coughEPICFAILcough).
Tom Hanks? I think "big big" is the clue.
Tom Cruise made part of his money as a producer in association with Paula Wagner. MGM had given them the keys to the United Artists label but they only made two movies, one of which flopped (Lions for Lambs) and Paula Wagner went her own way in 2008. Since then, Tom Cruise has starred in "Knight and Day".
Another guess: Mel Gibson. Former A+, fading due to the scandal and lackluster performances of his latest acting gigs, soon to direct another movie whose star (DiCaprio) left the project because of you know what.
Nicholas Cage could be a good guess even if he's not A+ in my eyes. His projects have always been hit and miss and you can't finance a blockbuster movie just because he's attached to it. Cruise and Gibson, on the other hand...
Wesley Snipes was B, B+ at the most. I'd even say he's the epitome of B: B movies, the cheaper, second choice for a part. And his financial issues with the IRS have been notorious for three or four years.
Jack Nicholson! or is he forever A list?
Mel Gibson? He's selling houses, paitings and his Lakers box and screamed that he hasn't got money.
Tom Hanks is permanent A+ list. Consecutive Oscars get you that. He is also really, really rich. I guess I'm going with Cage but does he hang around with athletes?
Sylvester Stallone is supposed to be running short of cash after some sore of incident after filming the expindables. Not usre of the baseball player though
I'd say that Nic Cage best fits the "former A+ list movie star and now a B+ and fading" with "big big financial problems."
Nic Cage was definitely A+ list in the past (he's got an Oscar, he used to be able to greenlight a film just by signing on, he made tons of money in very lucrative films, etc.) and I'd say he is now B+ and fading- he's still working steadily, but his films don't earn as much or get as much attention.
However, I have no idea who the baseball player is or why they are close enough to borrow millions.
Nic Cage is a Coppola, and he is credited with giving Johnny Depp his big break, so why go to an athlete for $$? Wouldn't uncle Francis Ford Coppola or buddy Johnny Depp (who has said he would be happy to help out Cage) be who he would go to for a loan?
Cruise made Knight and Day w/A Fraud's current flame...hmmm...
Ohh Snowstorms...that is interesting.
I wasn't leaning towards Cruise because he is/was so, so, so wealthy, but his last few flicks bombed and I read on Vulture that he is not getting a salary on his next film, only profit percentage- if he has been getting mostly profit percentage deals (as most A List does), and his last four or five years haven't yielded much $, he...could be having some problems.
Either way, this is the best A List Actor & A list baseball player connection mentioned!
Mel or Nick. I am conflicted.
Derek Jeter is very good friends with a lot of actors. He's good friends with Billy Crystal, and other actors. He's what you can say obsessed with hollywood actors and actresses. Always name drops who he knows.
Crystal and Jeter
Chris Tucker is having financial problems. But he probably was never A+.. Oh, how I loved him in Friday and the Fifth Element :)
Other then that, I got nothing!
I'm totally with Wesley Snipes or Nic Cage for the actor.
Neither Cruise nor a number of the other guesses are having "big big financial problems," even if they may be low on funds, they're still rich and not in the hole in any significant way.
As for the ballplayer, I have no idea.
My first thought was Gibson, but Cage is a good one as well, even though I don't consider him A+ list.
This is a toughie!
Chris Tucker and Wesley Snipes are a long way from being B+
Nic Cage, on the other hand, has some credibility...
But...Cage isn't known to be a sports fan so much as a fan of weird, nerd crap like comics and haunted houses...
I also agree with CTKat...he has his uncle, his cousin, Johnny Depp...there are a whole host of individuals he could go to. In fact, if you're familiar with Johnny Depp in any way you'd know he'd be a clear cut favorite for this because of how kind he tends to be...
I'm leaning towards Mel Gibson...but I can't for the life of me imagine what baseball player would give him money.
In terms of A-List baseball stars its: A-Rod, Jeter, and thats about it...
This blind sucks.
Wow. Missed the Costner guess...
I'm on board for Costner for some reason...He's definitely an ex A-Lister with enough name recognition to be a B...
And he has a significant history with baseball...There isn't an American playing baseball today who hasn't seen Bull Durham.
If Tom Cruise was in financial trouble, I think he'd go to his...um...church for assistance.
I, too, think this could be Kevin Costner.
I think it's Nic Cage, definitely not Tom Cruise. The amount that TC made from the Mission Impossible franchise is staggering. He may be off the charts weird, but he is a smart business man.
Has to be Nick Cage....
Billy Crystal? He's a huge Yankee fan. I have no other basis for my guess other than I know he's a huge Yankee fan and he's the first person that I thought of.
Mel Gibson is frightfully rich from Producing Passion of the Christ and his earlier movies. There is no way it's him.
Cruise is also quite wealthy from his earlier hits.
Costner too is very wealthy, I just rode by his ranch in Aspen and he owns multiple houses on the property all huge.
It's Cage.
