Lea Michele Made Hailee Steinfeld Cry
Apparently Hailee Steinfeld did not pay the Golden Globe people enough money because she did not get nominated for True Grit. Hopefully The Academy Award voters will not overlook her. She is really, really good in the role. Anyway, when Hailee went to audition for the role she was on the Paramount lot where they film Glee. Hailee told J-14, "I saw Lea Michele just walking to her trailer and I was like, "That's the girl from Glee. I've got to go ask for her autograph. So I walked up to her and asked for her autograph, but she walked by and a guy came and said, 'Sorry, now's not a good time'!"
"I was practically crying on the way home. I was so sad! But she's beautiful and she has an amazing voice."
Well, Hailee, I would expect nothing less from Lea. No time is ever a good time for Lea unless you are also holding a check in your other hand. Or cash. She accepts cash too. And, hopefully Hailee will not treat her fans the same way.

I saw True Grit yesterday. Hailee Steinfeld was amazing! Don't worry, Hailee, you're going to be much bigger than Lea. And when you are, don't be a bitch!

remaking True Grit is like spitting on John Wayne's grave. I don't care how good the remake is.
Hollywood should be ashamed. Just a matter of time before they are searching for the next Scarlett o' Hara.
@jax - after I got home from seeing the Coen Bros True Grit I saw that AMC was showing the 1969 John Wayne version so I watched that, too. John Wayne was great in that movie but the Coen Bros movie has a different feel to it and focuses more on the point of view of Hailee's character Mattie Ross. I don't think there was any spitting going on.

Isn't the new True Grit movie more accurate to the book?
Yes. And it's not like the original film is Wayne's best work anyway, despite his winning an Oscar for his work in it.
I can't wait for this movie.
Lea, you're a bitch. I hope Hailee gets WAY bigger than you and recounts this story over and over for the rest of her life.
Hi! I've been lurking on this wonderful site for years now, and this is the first time I ever read something that compelled me to write a comment. (Usually, I'm just at home gasping or saying ACK!) I know Lea Michele is supposed to be obnoxious, but I don't think the criticism of her here is justified. She was at WORK. I think celebrities have a certain obligation to be gracious to fans at events, social settings, etc., because it goes with the territory, so to speak. But to decline a request for an autograph (in a fairly polite way) while on the lot seems understandable, to me. I'm not blaming Hallie, she's an excited kid. But I don't think Lea Michele was out of line. Okay, back to lurking! Happy holidays to Enty and all you fun-to-read regulars!

I saw True Grit yesterday and this girl has some serious chops.
As one who LOVED the original movie with Kim Darby, Glenn Campbell, and The Duke, I haven't been this excited to see a movie all year. It looks amazing! The original source material is flawless and in the hands of such talents as the Coen Brothers, Mr. Bridges, Mr. Damon, Mr. Brolin, and from all appearances, Ms. Steinfeld, it is about as close to a sure thing as Hollywood can deliver.
I hope Hailee Steinfeld gets nominated, Lea Michele - who is thisclose to ruining GLEE for me this season - approaches her at some point and Ms. Steinfeld shows her the true meaning of being gracious. Not that Michele would recognize, or acknowledge, her own rotten behavior. Ever.
Look, if it is your coworker, suck it up! Give a damn autograph. Remember, be kind to the people on your way up, because you may need a lift on the way down.

To be fair, I suppose you're right and we probably wouldn't be so hard on her if she didn't have this history of ignoring requests for autographs and photos at industry events.
Lea is a brat. She probably thought it was some random girl and the story would never see the light of day. I could understand her not wanting to do it if it was a huge group, but it was one little girl. I've also read when she filmed Glee scenes that included an audience and they were asking her questions, all she did was roll her eyes.
I dunno. I kind feel that, regardless of whether or not she's at work, she definitely should have taken the time to speak to another rising young actress. I mean, at LEAST give the girl a damned autograph. Are you kidding?! She's no Beyonce. She's not even a Ke$ha, for God's sake. This diva shit is just going to bite her in the ass.
Lea is going to realize one day that her voice, acting abilities, and "beauty" really aren't that spectacular or interesting at all -- and that there are actresses with LOADS more talent in Hollywood who are nice, can also sing, and have reputations as nice people.
I find this girl to be absolutely infuriating/cringe-inducing, but I feel the same way about Glee. *shrugs*

The fact that the young girl was ON THE LOT meant she had reason to be there. It wasn't like Lea was in a Walgreen's buying tampons.
She could have been a bigwig's kid. Lea should be careful about making so many enemies. A thousand pretty girl singers are getting off a bus in LA right now.
I agree with HappyGrommitLA. Filming is a lot of hurry up and wait but when they call for the actors to set, they are ready to shoot and it isn't a good time for actors to stop and chat, no matter who it is. Plus actors need to be in a certain head space and sometimes avoid distractions when about to do their job. So if Lea was on her way to shoot, I am willing to cut her some slack because time is money. Hailee will learn that now that she is a working actress. I don't like Lea and agree that she has a crappy attitude but I also don't think it was necessary to call her out in this way. Just my .02
Technically, this is not a remake, but a new version. I personally love the first one, which has some of John Wayne's best dialogue in a film.
"This here's genuine, double-rectified busthead, aged in the keg!" Etc...
Lea Michele is NOT beautiful, and her inexperience betrays her--how many other new stars have pulled this shit only to be eating serious crow later?
I wish Glee would fire Lea. She brings the show down for me too.
Ugh. The other girls on Glee are all much better singers and performers. Lea and her character are so tiresome. She's really no fun to watch and is really making me not want to watch. She and "Finn" are the weakest links on the entire show. She doesn't have the goods to warrant being such a diva.
I don't care if she's at work or not, if you're a nice person, you don't just ignore people when they say something to you.

I don't love Lea but don't think it's awful that she didn't take time out of her work day to sign an autograph. I'm not an actress, so I don't know what it's like to be on a set...
That said, I saw the original True Grit 2 days ago & the new one today. The new one blew me away. It was so good. The "original" was pretty good, too. But the Coen brothers did an amazing job with the movie. And I'm sure Hailee is going to be huge (unless she goes Lindsay Lohan's route).
