The Colbert Report Back Tonight


In case you have been anxiously awaiting the return of Stephen Colbert, he is back in New York and new shows should start airing tomorrow. The even better news is that his 91 year old mother is doing much better which is why Stephen went back to work.

    I think Colbert is a genius and that he should win the Pulitzer for his work around SuperPacs. If you watch what he's saying, it's so smart.

    @Elizabeth, you are so right! He is educating a lot of people (me included!) on Super Pacs. We'd be bored if it were presented in a straightforward, serious manner, but when it's so funny, it's easy to digest.

    Yay for Stephen's Mom--may she make it to 100+!

    Stephen is the youngest of 11 kids. When he was 10, his father and two of his brothers, 13 & 14, died in a plane crash. Since the other siblings were older and had left home, Stephen went from growing up in a house full of people to being alone with his widowed mom. He has said it may be why he went into comedy---Because he was always trying to get his mom to smile.
    He is super close to his mom still, obviously.
