My son is still doing this and he is 9. He NEVER goes to sleep.
LOL!!! That was hysterical.
I love kids!! They just let their freak flags fly!!!!
As a former kid who was always last one asleep, first one up, it isnt any fun for us either.
My 16 month old does this, every freggin day lol
Look at the bright side - he'll wear himself out pillow diving!
My son would negotiate with me. At 3 years old. I would have to walk out of the room to not laugh in front of his face.
My oldest was practically doing back-flips in the crib at that age. And in the morning she'd bite all the other babies in daycare who wouldn't let her have the toys she wanted.
Who else has raised a shark-baby? You know what I mean: every day you go for pickup and there's another biting report. "I'm really, really sorry my baby bit your baby...again."
I imagine this would be the sort of thing my youngest would have done - if he'd ever actually spent any time in his crib. He has not wanted to sleep from the moment he was born - combine that with wanting to eat every 2 hours (ugh), you can see why he spent the first 8 months of his life sleeping with his father and I.
Contrast that with our first born, who was such a good sleeper as a baby that I would demonstrate for our friends by vacuuming his room while he slept.
Practicing for his generation of JackAss shows?
Oh B, the biting kids at daycare are the worst. Like really, how do you make it stop? We tried everything, she just stopped on her own...after biting half the school.
You may not agree with it but it seems to work...Bite the biter..Not hard enough to make a mark of course. They don't realize what it feels like, they only see the reaction. Once they know they stop immediately.
My girls hated naps! When they were 3 and 4 it was ridiculous the antics they got into. The worst was when they took the mattress off the top bunk and set it up to use as a slide. Naughty things lol.
It's true about the biting back thing. My daughter was like the daycare cop. When she was about three, a bigger girl started biting the much smaller kids, mine took it upon herself to bite her back. She didn't do it again. I tried to apologize, the mom thanked me. She'd been trying to get her to stop for a while. I despised naps as a kid, now, they're awesome!
Naps are as much for the parents as they are for the worn out/cranked up monkey!
I developed good nap-fu skills with our older one. Whenever she was overly-tired-yet-manic (every parent knows that state!), I would sit with her in the recliner and try to fall asleep. You really had to be falling asleep yourself for the nap-fu mind control to work. I would watch her with my eye just cracked as I was drifting off, and if my nap-fu was good, she'd thrash and giggle a bit, blink puzzledly at me a few times, and then clonk-splat-snozzle, she was out cold on my chest. Of course, to make it really work I'd have to take a nap myself but, of course, I usually needed one anyway.
