Blind Item #8

The lead singer of this former A+ list group which is still A-/B+ was in bad shape for a recent television appearance. He has always kept his drug use hidden away with most of his private life, but the straight and narrow to the world singer was clearly using and had a tough time staying coherent.

His "Mormon upringing " etc, being the straighht and narrow reference.

My son attended the same High School in Las Vegas as Brandon Flowers. He didn't know him personally, but knew he was in a band because my son was in a band.

hey@David. Another good story. I think they are talented, they just sort of fell away and I did hear he had substance issues (as well as being the closet, perhaps).

And the "Killers" were big time in Las Vegas before and after their hit song.
I remember a gossip-story of a 19 year old Brandon trying to get a drink at a downtown Las Vegas bar and was refused because he was underage. He did the whole, 'Don't you know who i am?' routine. So sad he can't beat his addiction problem.
It is very difficult for a band to have more than one or two hits, and then they break up. Brandon recently had a concert at the Bunkhouse in Las Vegas where he introduced his solo act.

Here's Brandon live on Kevin & Bean on KROQ this past Friday. He sounds a little slurry to me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYfOBOT7VBg

Brandon has been kind of odd in live interviews for the past several years. In fact I remember a few years ago he wouldn't do an interview in front of an audience on Kimmel, so Jimmy Kimmel (who's a Friend of Brandon and The Killers) interviewed him one on one in a sparsely lit room. I thought at the time maybe he had some sort of anxiety issue with live interviews. Early in The Killers career he was very open, very vocal, not afraid to be interviewed...

Brandon did one of the LDS promotional videos for "I'm a Mormon!" campaign painting himself as a family man and deeply religious believer. Maybe it was during a sober phase

No way The Killers were ever A+ list. A, maybe. I love them, but they were solidly B+ at their prime, and around B now. A+ is like the Rolling Stones or Beatles. Or at least Maroon 5 level fame.

Nice try David.
He was over 21 when The Killers took off, so that bar story is bull.
