This former A list mostly movie actor has had his chances as the lead in movies, but always seems to do better with a crowd, including in his franchise. He has been laying low the past year because he wants to stay closeted and last year it looked that was about to go boom.

I WOULD say renner BUT, he is not a 'former' mostly move actor, he is current...so this person has to be a veteran in acting
also 'with a crowd' ....so a group/team in a franchise...
Taylor Lautner? From "Twilight" Franchise... (Abduction was still during the Franchise so I'm disincluding his Lead Role in that one..lol)
He's filming "Ridiculous Six" now- it's a satiric comedy based on "Magnificent 7" w/Will Forte.Steve Buscemi,Nick Nolte, etc...
i didn't see the 2nd half of BI..oh well.
