This actress is mostly television. She doesn't do much acting any longer although she still identifies herself as one. She has a tough time getting roles because she just isn't that great at it. Her movies have been bombs and if it were not for a lucky casting break which she got by sleeping with the creator of the show, she wouldn't even really be known. Because of that casting break though, she got her dream. There is no craft for her. She is all about being as famous as possible and that means getting her photo taken almost daily. It also means that she tries to befriend people even more famous than her. She likes that attention. She knows the quickest way to get attention is to have a boyfriend and she has gone through a series of them in the past few years. None of them really last that long because she pushes them out in public with her and from day one of any relationship she starts leaking things to tabloids about the couple and loves seeing her quotes on sites and in the weekly tabloids. Whether the guys like it or not she puts them out in public and most of them give up on her and the idea after a week or two. She loves telling tabloids she is serious about a guy and hoping for marriage and her script never varies. Even the tabloids are getting tired of it and that is because she is losing her appeal. The longer she stays away from any new projects, the less interesting she becomes. She is hoping to land that one big relationship or create some type of scandal because she thinks it will buy her a few more years of fame.

Wait... Marc Cherry created Desperate Housewives, right? And he's gay, correct? So... are you saying that sleeping with him helped to get her the part on that show?
Her Las Vegas Steakhouse was a failure, too, because of the lack of focused management: violations in food handling caused people to NOT want to eat there anymore.
And, the small 6 oz steaks were too small for the $36 Price Tag.
Morton's did the right thing in closing it down.
The rent in Crystals tries to compete with the Forum shops: way too expensive.

When she tried to make it seem like Clooney showed interest in her, I was almost embarrassed on her behalf - but I just cringed instead.
Someone needs to check her imdb page before saying she isn't getting any parts. She's getting plenty of work.

I think her LA restaurant also had food handling violations. There used to be a website with before/after celeb photoshop pictures. Longoria had one laying down, trying to look sexy. Her photoshop was the only one that put weight on instead of taking it off. Without the extra added she looked like a hag-bag of bones.
She obviously didn't fuck Cherry for the part in Desperate Housewives. It must have been someone at ABC/Touchstone, maybe Stephen McPherson?

Wikipedia credits Lloyd Braun for greenlighting Desperate Housewives (the Lloyd Braun from Seinfeld??? Ha) and ABC said it was created by Charles Pratt Jr, who was connected with Melrose Place, and Marc Cherry.
Enty is close: It was the actor who played her husband on DH who slept with Marc Cherry to get his role.
