Blind Items Revealed #1

June 8, 2016

This beloved 70’s and 80’s star worked in some movies in the 90’s and still has A+ list name recognition and some popular offspring. The reason she stopped working in movies was not retirement so much as no directors ever wanting to work with her if she was cast because she always had final cut in her movies during the 90’s so they all ended up being bombs.

Goldie Hawn

First Wives Club was a massive hit though. That was a 90's movie.

Bird on a Wire also did pretty well.

As mediocre as Death Becomes Her did, I really enjoyed that one.

I like Death Becomes Her.

Figured there had to be some reason. Her true peers not named Streep (Sarandon, Tomlin, S. Weaver, among the ones off the top of my brain) continue to find work, and the only way it makes sense that Goldie is not in the same position is if there are reasons she is not wanted.

Goldie has a new movie coming out next year, supposedly action.

Liked that movie also. Still watch it whenever it comes on. :-)

They didn't all end up as bombs. Entard equates success with box office dollars as if that's all that counts. Final cut is something studios don't like to give away, not even to directors.

It's kinda hard to play the cute dumb blonde when you are in your late 50s and early 60s.

Her 90s resumee wasn't as bomb-y as the blind makes it seem.

First Wives Club, Bird on a Wire, Housesitter, and Death Becomes Her all did pretty well.

Deceived, CrissCross, Everyone Says I Love You, and The Out-of-Towners were bombs.

Batting .500, especially someone in the game for multiple decades, is more than respectable.

Just saw that on IMDB. Impressive cast - Amy Schumer (I'm figuring Goldie is playing her mom, as it is described as a "mother/daughter action film"), Christopher Meloni, Wanda Sykes. Something to keep an eye out for.

Dude this blind is BS.
Goldie's brand is solid. Hwood turns out crap movies on a regular basis, tries to guilt trip people into seeing them, then blames the actors (and now, "society") when the movie tanks. The industry needs to improve its game, remember that they're selling a product that's supposed to be entertaining, and stop deflecting blame onto the consumers, the actors, society, etc.
Also in need of improvement: The blinds on this site.

Death Becomes Her was f***ing hilarious! Merly Streep and Goldie Hawn were so funny in that movie. I loved it. Plus it had Isabella Rossellini and Bruce Willis. Always loved Isabella. I mean anyone who can pull off Blue Velvet w/ Dennis Hopper -- deserves life-long Kudos.

I do believe blinds about Goldie being no joy to be around.
Blaming her for so-called bombs?
BS

I always enjoyed Goldie more than Streep, Sarandon and the others mentioned, even if the movie was mediocre.

If it's true she had final cut in her movies, then she did excellent with Private Benjamin and Foul Play. Love those two classic movies.

She was great in Housesitter (1992) but Steve Martin was a wooden mess - that's why that movie bombed. It was ridiculous. If they had made it with anyone else...

I believe this blind. It explains why she hasn't been in movies.

She didn't ALWAYS have final cut. I think the implication was that when she did, it was a bomb. When she was part of a true ensemble, where she didn't have final say, the films were good.
