It is not exactly what she meant, but the PR people of this A list singer are having to placate a bunch of industry people about awards and award shows and swear she wasn’t including them in her list. She is going to have a tough time getting nominations or awards this year.

Let's be real, she would have a tough time being nominated, let alone winning, because her new music is not good and hasn't going over well. That said, I hope she doesn't double-down on her comments, attributing the recognition oversights to retribution, as though her recent stuff has been really good.
Not that you have to be talented to win awards because you don't but nothing she does is really worth any awards except from popularity by fans votes.
She has been in this business for around a decade, she should know better.

Yes, katy it is common knowledge these award shows are fake, you still need to play the game though and gush if not cry when you win thanking your kindergarten teacher.

I don't think she was a real contender for any awards show this season but now she has a reason to make Blame other than the truth (which is her talent was used up years ago)
She's on meltdown mode a ala Britney but quieter. I wonder what's really going on with her. The drugs is just to placate something worse.
If she thinks awards are a crock, why would she worry about nominations?
Considering her new album has recorded the biggest 2nd week sales drop for a #1 album in history (a #1 she only reached by literally giving away a copy of her album to people who bought tour tickets), she won't be earning any awards in an honest way. Seems strange to criticize award shows for being fake, the only ones she can win are the ones that are bought and paid for.

Katy's comments are not the reason that she wouldn't be nominated. Try the fact that her career is dying, her new album is not good, and people are not receptive to whatever image makeover she has done. She's not in a good place mentally and it's obvious to anyone with eyes. If she was surrounded by people who actually cared, they'd tell her to take step back and get some treatment.
