Toasted what squares drizzled with dried sugarcane particulate and powered bark from a Sri Lankan Cinnamomum Verum tree, all meticulously bathed in the lactile fluid of a female bovine.

I have two that everyone begs me to make. Spinach lasagna and Enchiladas. Both PIA in lots of steps.

Aquagirl said...

Lots of asparagus lovers on here. How many of you are in the 40%? (I am.)

You hungry Enty? Grilled chicken, homemade teriyaki sauce, with a mango-pineapple salsa. The chicken is heavily seasoned with spices before being grilled. A homemade teriyaki sauce is drizzled over the chicken. Then the mango pineapple salsa is added on the side. (Pineapple, mangoes, red pepper, onions, cilantro, and lime juice.) It sounds fru-fru but it's not. Now I'm hungry.

Tournedos Rossini or for the plebs amongst us: best filet steak you can buy, with grilled foie gras on top, a generous shaving of black truffles, accompanied by coarsely mashed mash with garlic and truffles, and a thick and tasty red wine reception sauce.

Serve with a red that is expensive enough not to vulgarise the dish. I like a supertuscan or a Barolo.

Funny because I'm about to make this for lunch in a few minutes actually. It's my sig dish and most people love it when I make it for them. Grass-fed bun-less burger fried in ghee and topped with raw cheese and chard that I cook with ACV "greens style" and pickled jalapenos.

Kimberley said...

Starter: bacon, sliced mushrooms, grated cheese over in a cream and white wine sauce, all in a souffle dish. Main: spag bol (spaghetti bolognaise) Dessert: rich dark chocolate and lime mousse (with lime juice & garnished with grated lime.)

Mmmm. a stir fry with shrimp/beef/chicken in olive oil with garlic and cashew/walnuts/peanuts. Either frozen stirfry veg, or fresh peppers, onions, baby corn, broccoli.

Did you just say spicy vodka sauce?!

Can I please come for dinner? LOL.

Scandi Sanskrit said...

OMG I’ve never had jalapeños pickled before. I didn’t even know they were a thing.

Scandi Sanskrit said...

You know what else lime juice is good for?

Papaya (mixed with some sugar sprinkled over it).

Scandi Sanskrit said...

Tomatoes sprinkled with sea salt and chilli sauce.

I don’t care if I don’t win. I already have an Oscar.

Scandi Sanskrit said...

*i meant chilli powder.

But it’s okay that I got that wrong because I’m a Nobel laureate in Literature.

Depeche Model the only thing you eat is hotdogs and most o f the time you are too lazy to heat them up, just eat them straight out of the fridge. You are delusional and a big fat loser living in your mothers basement.

Scandi Sanskrit said...

Oh damn you.

Now I’m craving mac & cheese with chilli powder and where am i going to get something like that jn Jakarta at this hour when it’s raining outside?! 🤦🏻‍♀️🐈☔️

i won't win, but i bet everyone ends up at my table at the end of the competition for comfort food.
i make this lean ground beef, tomatoes, potatoes, and onions pot of goodness that for some reason everyone loves. i do prefer to blanch fresh tomatoes to make the dish, but good canned tomatoes suffice when tomatoes are not fresh and in season. i also use the leanest ground beef for the dish. i'd follow it up with my Granny's raisin pie for dessert. don't knock raisin pie if you've never had it. my Granny would make it for dessert when all her canned fruits were long gone from her pantry. it's sweet and lovely.
so y'all come to my table when you're done with the fancy stuff.
buttered bread, sweet tea, and good conversation on the side.

Scandi Sanskrit said...

That sounds wonderful, mud. 💛

And asparagus, everybody seems to love asparagus on this thread?

Sagan said...

Standing prime rib roast; horseradish cream, purple Peruvian potatoes Hasselback style; Sherry baby bella mushrooms, caramelized onions and garlic, and asparagus tips.

This is my traditional New Years Day dinner.

People BEG me to make potato casserole. Its like the easiest thing in the world to make, too. My mother's is even better than mine!

@knowsfuckall - last time I ate a hotdog was over a decade ago. I don't eat garbage and I don't feed my family garbage. I do cook very simple and healthy meals, but the question was about a cooking competition. Tournedos Rossini is insanely impressive, somebody very special taught me many years ago, and I might make it once a year. And yeah, my husband and I buy truffles from Italy in November every year for the holidays, and we have a little wine cellar. You not believing me, says nothing about me, and everything about you. You pitiful peasant.
