Blind Item #15
A little tidbit from a sitcom producer friend of mine. He is a nepo baby but has done some interesting projects and some that were just a waste of money. Anyway, he was having a pitch meeting at Black+Blue in Toronto because everyone knows you can't have a pitch meeting without spending $100 per person. One of the guys pitching some ideas was this married old school comedy guy. Been around forever. Started out in a young passageway comedy troupe and now pretty much does a solo thing while still using the name of the group.
Anyway, it has been about an hour and the comedy guy keeps looking over at the bar where this very young woman is sitting by herself just slowly nursing a water. My producer friend catches and realizes the woman is waiting for the comedy guy who is way more than twice her age. Probably nearer three times her age. Apparently the comedy guy promised her he would take her shopping because she had been very good to him the night before and he felt like he owed her. He didn't know lunch would be full on lunch for two hours. Plus, they were going to look for a condo for her to move into so it would be easier to see her more regularly. He was trading in his current one for someone much younger and much less problematic.
My producer friend said, don't let me get in the way and our comedy guy went on his way.
