CDANCON-More Stuff

This one is more for the readers rather than the attendees because the people who are coming can just bring whatever they want signed. But, for those of you who can't make it to the lunch, two lucky winners will receive the Dominique Swain DVD of your choice personally autographed to you or anyone else you want.

DS means a great deal to me and also to the blog. I think she provided the most fun over the first year, as well as the most intense debates, rivalries and nasty comments both for and against her existence. I'm glad that she will be able to sit down with everyone at the lunch, and just talk about herself, her life, her career, and what films she is doing over the next few months. I also know she will be happy to discuss the ins and outs of all the ZX posts, and I will make sure she signs something for "some" also.

If you haven't entered the drawing, the clock is ticking. The M perfume from Mariah, the CD's from Fay Aiyana, the Full Bloom Tea which you all seem to adore, the signed Amber Tamblyn book, the signed Dominique Swain DVD, and there may be one or two other actor/actress DVD signings also, but they haven't got back to met yet so I don't want to announce them before I am sure. By the time I find out, the deadline may have passed to enter.
So enter now by sending an e-mail to ent.lawyer@yahoo.com by 5pm PDT and no, your e-mail addresses aren't going to be given away. I might drunk e-mail you in the middle of the night sometime, but other than that, no one will know.

Deadline For Entries Fast Approaching

If you have entered for one item, you have been entered for them all. No need to send separate entries for each giveaway. Just thought I would tell you. The next thing up for grabs comes from someone who just succeeds at everything she does. She is an incredible person, poet and actress. As you can tell from the picture above, it is Amber Tamblyn. From Joan of Arcadia to The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants and Stephanie Daley, Amber can do it all as an actress, but honestly, she may even be a better poet than actress. If you have not checked out her book Free Stallion, you need to do so, and soon.

Same rules as always. One winner from the lunch and one winner chosen at random from all the entries received by 5pm PDT today will receive a copy of the book Free Stallion personally signed to them by Amber Tamblyn.

Remember, if you can't make it to the lunch, there is going to be video, photos and lots of after action reports. You may enter the drawing for this item or the many others such as the M perfume from Mariah, the autographed CD's from Fay Aiyana, the Full Bloom Tea sets, and now this great book, by sending an e-mail to ent.lawyer@yahoo.com

Get it in by 5pm PDT. Seriously.

UNICEF & Halloween

When I was growing up, teachers would hand all the kids some UNICEF boxes to take with us when we went trick or treating and then would beat us if we forgot our box on November 1st. Not so much beating really as yelling. Well, not really yelling as much as scolding. Well not really scolding as much as admonishing. Maybe that's even too strong, but hey, you felt stupid if you forgot it because you had carried it around the night before. That box in one hand and your goody bag in the other. When you rang a doorbell, people had candy in one bowl and pennies or nickels in the other.

Now, I don't see many kids trick or treating, but when I do actually have candy, and am at home and can get my bloated body off the Lazy Boy I see that kids have the bags for candy, but no UNICEF boxes. I think that's a tragedy and so I decided to do something about it.

I called my dear and wonderful friend Fay Aiyana who is a singer I have plugged here before and she told me she gives a portion of all her album sales to charity, including UNICEF. Charities are close to her heart because doctors told her she might never sing again after battling a severe form of acid reflux disease. This is a woman whose entire life is music, and singing is a big part of that. To give up singing entirely would be crushing. Well, after surgery and several years of recovery, she is singing again, and doing it well. So, in addition to all her music coordinator duties in film and television, she has an album recently out called Illuminate The Shadows which documents in song her struggles to sing again as well as her hit You Turn Me On.

For any album Fay sells between now and the end of the year I will match whatever donation she makes, with a minimum donation of $1,000. To listen to tracks off her album, download free ringtones or to purchase the album, click here. I know lots of you are saying, I don't want to buy an album. I am perfectly okay with that. Click on the above link and take a look at the charities she gives to. Even if you can't give a dime, that's ok. Knowledge is power. Learn about them, read about them and spread the word.
The charities Fay contributes to are UNICEF, ASPCA, Toms Shoes for Tomorrow, StopGlobalWarming.org, and One.org. She has links to all of them on her page.

I will be giving out two signed CD's of Illuminate The Shadows to two lucky people who show up to the luncheon on Saturday and two more to readers who can't make it to lunch but have entered the M perfume giveaway. The deadline for the M giveaway is October 25 at 5pm. Send an e-mail to ent.lawyer@yahoo.com and in the subject line mention the contest or anything that will let me know you want to enter and DS will randomly select the winners on Saturday.

Band Of The Day

Fay Aiyana is more known for her music in television and films singing in Gilmore Girls and Sin City Diaries, but is now striking out on her own with her very first record. In addition to her 4.5 octave range, I love Fay because she's also a giver. A portion of the money from every album she sells goes to UNICEF which is a charity near and dear to her heart, and mine as well.

Take a listen to her new CD, and if you would like to be the band of the day, e-mail me.
