Anne Hathaway's Ex Is Getting Out Of Prison

Just in time for the premiere of Dark Knight Rising, Anne Hathaway's ex, Raffaello Follieri is getting out of prison. He is getting out of jail tomorrow. Back in 2008 when he was sentenced, I really thought that Anne Hathaway was going to get thrown into jail too. Instead she sang like a canary and nothing happened to her and she keeps on making her millions of dollars a movie. When you read everything that happened, I just felt like she knew what was going on and that she knew he had been stealing almost $4M from people. They went out for four years. I find it hard to believe that such and intelligent person like Anne would not have some idea. Somehow though she stayed above it all. Raffaello got 4 1/2 years in jail. It will be interesting to see if they contact each other or if anyone asks Anne about it. They were dating right up to the day he got arrested.

It's Jail

Umm, the times I have spent in jail, have not been , for the most part, pleasant experiences. So, I guess I don't understand why Anne Hathaway's former dude, Raffaello Follieri thinks he deserves some kind of special jail that the rest of us don't have. Raffaello's lawyer complained to a judge that rats are everywhere and rat crap in the showers and that 120 men all share a one room dorm with no shower and no window. First of all it is just for a little while, and second of all, I didn't notice that any of the other 119 men complained. If they did and it was not reported, then how come? Are there concerns not as valid because they didn't use to have sex with Anne Hathaway?

Does Raffaello deserve special treatment just because he can apparently afford to hire a lawyer and maybe the other 119 cannot. In something that truly made me laugh, Raffaello's lawyer also said that Raffaello is not getting appropriate medical treatment and said, "Although I am not a doctor, I have seen him regularly and he feels warm to the touch and his eyes are glassy."

Yeah, with 120 guys all sharing a room with no window and no showers I bet all of them feel a little warm to the touch. I would imagine it is hot in there and if you had to smell 120 guys all day who didn't bathe your eyes would probably be glassy too. Now, shut up and just serve your sentence like everyone else.

I Know I've Said This Before

Look, you can skip ahead if you don't want to read about me saying a few words about the Anne Hathaway and Raffaello Follieri thing. I was going to leave it alone. I promise. I was reading an article that said that Raffaello wrote a letter to the judge asking to only serve three years instead of the four he agreed to in his plea deal. He is scheduled to be sentenced next week. I imagine he wants three because then he would be out in about 1/3 to half that amount of time. Hell, if he was in California state prison, they probably would have already sent him home.

So, this is my beef. As you know, Anne enjoys the same publicist as Jennifer Aniston. Jennifer Aniston sells magazines despite how much I dislike her and rail against her. Therefore, if you are a magazine it would behoove you to be nice to all of Jeff Huvane's clients if you ever want an exclusive and cover story with Jennifer Aniston.

So, while reading the article on the prison sentencing, I happened to notice this headline in the related section. Anne's Prince Turns Out To Be A 'Conman'. When I read this it just makes it seem that Anne was a victim and that she had no idea what was going on for the entire time they were dating. This is a couple that never went longer than an hour or two without talking. They lived together and were together constantly and she never knew? She was the victim? Raffaello is a crook. No problem with it. Don't know why Kneepads had to go the conman route, but whatever. But the headline conveys an image of Anne desperately in love with a man she didn't know, and that she wanted a prince and ended up with some kind of criminal. I for one am not buying it. I know lots of you are buying it, and that's fine. This blog would suck if everyone agreed with everyone all the time. I just can't stand her high and mighty attitude or how she was a perfect angel in this. She was looking out only for herself, and when the net got tighter, she wriggled free.

Dave Grills Anne - But Not Like It Sounds

Last night David Letterman had his shot with Anne Hathaway. He grilled her. Not grill as in actually oiling her up and cooking her, because lets face it that would be wrong. How wrong? Look, I am not going to judge you if that is what you are saying. Do you what you will. I'm just thinking that if you are going to do something like that, then perhaps someone as bony and stringy as Anne Hathaway is not going to be your first choice.

Anyway, one thing I really like about Dave is that he is not afraid to make a guest uncomfortable and not afraid to ask some tough questions and make snide remarks at their expense. For the most part he really doesn't seem to care who he pisses off or if they ever come back. Yes, he has favorites, but he wouldn't be human if he didn't, and it still doesn't keep him from throwing the occasional difficult question to even his friends.

Last night he kept asking Anne about her ex-boyfriend and she gave some answers that were completely contradictory to things she had said before, but appear to confirm almost exactly what Vanity Fair reported. Anne in the clip below is playing games with words. I really encourage you if you have not done so yet, to read that Vanity Fair article. Just click on the labels below and you will find it. It will make you think twice about believing anything she says about anything.

If you have ten minutes to kill today, sit back and watch the interview from last night. Oh, and to Worldwide Pants. Thanks for not being asses about your stuff on YouTube.

"Hey. I'm Guilty. Use My Name."

I have now read about ten different articles by the wire services and newspapers about the guilty plea of Raffaello Follieri. Each article starts off with Anne Hathaway's former boyfriend or some variation like that. Most of the articles use her photo as well.

I think it is a pretty interesting case even without her involvement, and honestly, I think we all are a little sick of Anne. She is starting to really grate on our nerves. If you want to read my comments on her interview with W, it isn't going to happen. I think she's fake and a phony and I think she turned her boyfriend in. Sure he was guilty. He admitted it and we all knew it, but she must have known it for years, but she never did anything. Are we supposed to believe she woke up one day and said, "how can you afford all this? How come you are not doing what you promised to your investors?" She then went and burst into fake tears, rushed out of the $37,000 a month apartment she was paying for and called the FBI. As the FBI was dragging him away she probably whispered goodbye from a doorway across the street and then went and did press for Get Smart and laughed and laughed knowing she had done good. Now she could go get drunk with Star Jones or get it on with a woman or whatever she wanted to do.

Well, Raffaello deserves some attention for this crime without having to drag her name through the article to make it more interesting. Raffaello plead guilty to fraud today and will serve up to four years in the federal prison system, courtesy of the US taxpayer. He will also have to make restitution to those he defrauded, but most of them have already been paid back. Because he is going to a minimum security federal prison, it is unlikely that he will be forced to don a wig for his cellmate and call himself Princess Mia.

Here Comes The Huvane Machine

I have nothing against Stephen Huvane. I think he is a great publicist, and definitely has some of the highest profile clients, but I just get tired of the games he continuously plays with his single clients. It is bad enough that he seems to take it upon himself to make sure that Jennifer Aniston is linked with any straight guy with a pulse that comes within 50 feet of her, but now he is trying to play the same game with Anne Hathaway. Next week he will move on to doing the same for Liv Tyler. I think the only reason he hasn't is because he doesn't know how to play the game when a woman actually has a child. It is why he doesn't do it with Uma.

I think it is probably Huvane's wet dream to have Anne and Jennifer sharing all of the tabloid covers each with their own "new man" and "new love" story. Apparently we are all now supposed to believe that Anne Hathaway has fallen in love with Josh Lucas. Oh yes. Oh, before I forget, you have to read the Vanity Fair article on Anne and Raffaello Follieri, it is incredible. Long, detailed and incredible. You read that article, and you tell me that Life & Style didn't just print exactly what Huvane told them to about Anne and Josh.

"They definitely looked like a couple. They were really into each other, giggling and smiling and even holding hands at one point.

"You could almost taste their chemistry! She looked beautiful and happy."

Wow, who the f**k knew that Josh Lucas giggles. I bet he would be happy to know that he sits around giggling. Please. This story is so full of crap, and honestly, I think Huvane should stop playing this game because I think it is going to backfire on him. He is going to keep setting Anne up on all of these dates, and then Raffaello is going to get out of jail, and get back together with Anne again and Huvane is going to look foolish.

After reading all of the charges against Follieri, I'm not sure why the feds are even interested in him. Oh sure, he is a slime ball, and a con man, but everyone who could have filed charges against him has actually been paid back. I think he just managed to draw so much attention to himself because of that $200,000.00 bad check that he went down.

So, for now I think Stephen should concentrate on getting Gwyneth to eat some food, getting Uma married as quickly as possible before her boyfriend bolts and making sure his brother Kevin Huvane hangs onto his job at CAA as managing partner or else celebrities may want to find some other publicist with connections, and then instead of Jennifer Aniston he will be working with Jennifer, the 34th runner up on American Idol from 2005. Oh, you probably didn't know that Kevin Huvane is Jennifer Aniston's agent, and he just happened to recommend his brother Stephen to be her publicist.

What Is In The Diaries?

Everybody is making a big deal about the fact that the feds have seized Anne Hathaway's diaries which she had over at Raffaello Follieri's place thinking they will provide the answers to everything, from what he did, to whether or not there is life on other planets. It's a crock. I know that as a guy and a a curious bastard that if my girlfriend left her diaries out in the open at my place it would only be a matter of time before they were screaming at me to come open them. They would be beckoning me with all of their secrets and insights. I would read them and then feel guilty for hours but it wouldn't stop me from reading them again when something new was written or to bring up what I read in a fight.

Yeah, yeah, I'm an ass, but you can't tell me that you wouldn't do the same damn thing and everyone knows that. So, my guess is that these diaries are probably appointment planners or something as generic and boring. If they were the big bang, don't you think the feds would have taken them in their 20 other searches of the place?

What I found way more interesting in the NY Daily News article today, but seems to have been glossed over is the fact that Anne may have got lover boy to come back to the US to be arrested by the feds.

The article states that Raffy boy was over in Italy from which he probably would not have been extradited, but was talked into coming back to the US by Anne.

“He was in Europe, working on a deal,” says a source. “He didn’t have to come back to New York. He knew he was being investigated. But she kept calling him, saying they needed to resolve their future. A few days after his return, he was arrested.”

Nice huh? Wonder how that will play out in the film. Did she do it because she made a deal with the feds or did she do it out of revenge or, was it simply that she wanted to break it off with him in person? I'm going with the revenge thing, although making a deal with the feds to save your own skin is not a bad way to go. I mean she is a famous actress and he probably was growing tiresome so she dumps him to save herself, continues to make tons of money and achieve fame and laughs silently as he stews in prison. The problem with that theory is that Raffy isn't going to prison for life for this and if she did sell him out, he is going to be one unhappy dude when he gets out of the clink and will probably sell his version of the story whether true or not to the tabloids. No, hang on. He seems more of a book person. Ghost written with lots of photos of Anne in really compromising positions.

This trial will be really, really good. I think it will easily eclipse the Christie Brinkley thing for juiciness.
