First African American Bachelorette Named BY ABC

ABC has named a black woman as its "Bachelorette" for the first time in the show's history.

Rachel Lindsay will lead the 13th season of "The Bachelor" spinoff. The announcement came Monday night on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

The news is somewhat of a spoiler for fans of the ongoing season of "The Bachelor." The 31-year-old attorney from Texas has yet to be eliminated from the dating show, where she is competing for the affections of Nick Viall. Nevertheless, Lindsay told Kimmel on Monday that she's ready to find love and a husband. She also encouraged the audience to send any interested suitors to apply for the show.

"I'm happy to represent myself as a black woman in front of America and I'm happy for America to rally behind me and see what it's like for me to be on this journey to find love. Honestly, it's not going to be that different from any other season of 'The Bachelorette.'"

The Bachelorette Picks Someone To Pretend To Marry

Lots of former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants are marrying and having babies, but the problem is most of them are not having these things happen with the people that are proposing at the end of a season of shows. Andi "The Dorf" Dorfman has already said she will be back in her Assistant District Attorney job by the end of the year. Apparently the guy who gave up his baseball career for love. I know, we need to talk about that for a second. The guy didn't give up his career for love. It is a line that producers fed him. The guy wasn't good enough to keep playing and instead of being the mid-30's guy on the back of the bus he gave up the sport. If he had been playing major league baseball and earning millions of dollars a year do you think he would have walked away from it for love? So, that is a bunch of crap right there. The loser seemed pretty upset about the whole thing and you get the feeling that the sex he had with Andi before dumping him has made him bitter and that she may have to seek a restraining order at some point. Anyway, the winner was Josh Murray who will be on one of the spin off shows soon with the runner up where they might have a chance actually finding true love and not made for ABC to fit into the weeks allotted love.

Andi "The Dorf" Dorfman Wants Her Job Back

Andi Dorfman presumably got someone on The Bachelorette to ask her to marry her, but things must not be going well, or the guy is willing to pack up and move to Georgia because Andi told her boss that she would be back by the end of the year and really wanted her old job as a district attorney back. Apparently this means that she is not going to be interested in trying to hang on to her 15 minutes or doing a season of Dancing With The Stars or making a couple of bucks doing appearances. Does this mean she will just show off whoever she picked and that they will go their separate ways before the end of the year? Maybe the guy is willing to move to Georgia and start a life with her there, but that would also mean he doesn't want an extended 15 minutes or make money doing appearances. maybe he is going to be the next Bachelor.

Catherine Giudici And Sean Lowe Getting Married For The Paycheck And Fame

Multiple sources surrounding Bachelor winner Catherine Giudici are sharing their story about the couple that is slated to get married on live television in January just in time for sweeps week. They say that nothing has changed between Catherine and Sean Lowe and the couple is just as distant as ever but have decided to see things through because of the money and fame they will receive from getting married on television. Earlier this year when Sean was on Dancing With The Stars the couple rarely saw each other and only came together when there was a photo opportunity or had some other requirement to fill for the network. Catherine spent most of her time out at night with her friends or even alone and met two guys who she still talks to and who she is more interested in than Sean.

As for Sean, Catherine's friends say that Sean did his best to hook up with his celebrity dance partner from the show but that he failed. He loved going out alone so that he could play the 15 minute fame card and loved having women recognize him when he went out. Back in Dallas now nothing has changed. The couple live apart and Sean loves going out at night and being recognized and only hangs out with Catherine when the cameras are rolling.

The plan is to stay married for about a year to see if there is any interest in an anniversary special for television and also Catherine wants a shot at Dancing With The Stars for her own. The couple is also pitching a reality show after their contract with ABC ends.

Another Season of The Bachelorette Is In The Books - The Split Countdown Begins Now - **NO Spoilers In Post**

I can write about the last episode of The Bachelorette without even giving any spoilers because I barely even remember the name of the guy who won. Did he really win? He got to propose to Desiree Hartsock even though she says she had her heartbroken in the last episode. Apparently she got over it real fast and said the right things and that she is in love and needed to have her heart crushed into tiny little pieces before she realized she would have been making a mistake with that guy who dumped her and made her cry every second and what she really needed was this guy in her life who proposed. Yeah, that should work out fine. At this point, the show is not really much better than an arranged marriage. If you can fall in love that is great, but otherwise, find someone who looks good in photos with you, make sure the runner-up is good looking enough to be The Bachelor (although this time went to Juan Pablo) and when you do split with the guy, you end up on Dancing With The Stars as a nice $200K consolation prize. You know who gets screwed the most is the winner of the show. he gets to ask a question he knows will never happen. He does not get The Bachelor because he is "engaged" and he does not get Dancing With The Stars. He does not even have Bachelor Pad to look forward to any longer.
