Joe And Teresa Giudice Face More Jail Time

Prosecutors yesterday indicted Joe and Teresa Giudice with two additional charges that could add some serious prison time to the time they are already facing. The couple are accused of loan fraud and bank fraud because Teresa claimed on loan documents she was making $15,000 a month as a realtor when in reality she had no income and no job. The original 39 count indictment has now increased to 41 counts.

It is interesting because Teresa is already having her people send out e-mails and tips which say that Joe filled out the forms and just put them in front of Teresa to sign and she had no clue or understanding what she was signing and is an innocent victim. Apparently the friends have no problems throwing Joe under a bus.

The new charges could potentially add another few decades to the few decades of prison time they already face and the couple is due in court tomorrow for their arraignment. Joe still has his other trial scheduled in state court pertaining to his fake drivers license. The trial on the federal charges is set for the end of February.

Maybe they should pitch a new show idea to Bravo..the Real Housewives of Rikers. Bet it would be a ratings winner.

Are these some Real Housewife 'something more important was scraped off my shoe this morning' people?
Do they not do vetting when it comes to who they air?
I don't care, as I would rather be caught dead just about anywhere but in front of my tv when that sh*t airs, just wondering.

Ahh, thanks audrey. I wouldn't even know about these idiots if I didn't read this site.
Now Pawn Stars, then we can talk. I like that show.

I am going to reminisce for a moment; remember back when The Real Housewives of Orange County came out? It was fantastic. It was kind of spun as a documentary type, you got invested in the people, you really wanted to know if Jo was gonna be sleeping with dishy-maybe-gay? Shane. There were captions of truth at the end, it was toadilly awesome. We all cheered for single mom Lauri who won the Golddiggers Cup by meeting George and locking that shite down.

Then the real estate bubble burst and it became like the only income these families had, so add the pressure of no money and having to be interesting...I like how Jersey went their own way and added the criminal aspect, kinda sets them apart.

As a mortgage banker it takes very little effort to verify income now. But in 2005 they prob did a no income no asset (toxic loan) also known as stated income. If the borrower meets requirement credit score, they are the ones who state what there monthly income. But its fraud if they disclose unearned income. Karma bitches

I cannot see them avoiding jail time, either of them, at this point. You can't cry stupid 41 fucking times regarding personal finances when you live as garishly as they do. No one will believe them anymore.

@TalksTooMuch: The Real Housewives shows used to be fun escapism. Big beautiful houses, clothes, three-hour long lunches, etc. It was the good life. Then Teresa flipped a table, which was ratings *gold*, and it escalated the cattiness across ALL of the shows. Maybe I'm crazy, but that seemed to be the turning point. Conflict replaced friendship. The producers pull a lot of strings and push a lot of buttons and those fools just eat it up. Look at Vicki and Tamra, Dina and Caroline.

About the sharpest tool in the whole shed is NeNe who has probably been getting some really good management and counseling from Ryan Murphy. She knows she has other work on TV if she stays marketable. She has really cooled off since the first couple seasons.

Neither one of them will do time.

Isn't it the banks fault? I'm sure they tricked them into borrowing money they couldn't repay if their real estate investments didn't continue to go up 20% a year. They are just innocent victims - everyone lies on bank loan applications don't they? Let's start up a defense campaign for them and ask for contributions$$.

People who flagrantly commit fraud and break the law need some prison time. I've completely stopped watching any of the Housewives, but it's nice to catch up with them here.

I agree w/ NapAssassin, just crying stupid isn't enough. She is going to have to testify against Joe if she hopes to stay out of jail.

If they get locked up, can MSNBC do a reality show with them? That station seems to have the monopoly on jail shows.

I know there are kids involved but the US court system is totally screwed if they only put Juicy Joe behind bars and not Teresa.

Although we are talking about a legal system that also found OJ innocent ... Hmmmm

She looks pregnant in this pic. Maybe she thinks that will keep her out of jail.

This is so funny - I just finished this absolutely hilarious novel about reality TV by a former reality TV producer. It was just like reading "Crazy Days and Nights" but apparently it's all based on true stuff. Highly recommend the book - called "Reality Boulevard." Anyway, they had this reality show called "Dancing on Death Row" in it. And another show where they were making criminals into reality stars.

I guess truth is stranger than fiction…
