She was an actress. Well, I mean she still is an actress. She just went from getting good roles in big movies to getting smaller roles in smaller movies. The thing is, most of you know her. I have always said her dad screwed up her entire life to the point I don't know if she will ever be 100%.
It turns out that her dad for the past several years ran a scam with some foreign student exchange program where he pretended to be a family and would have these teens coming from overseas and force them to sleep with him the entire time they were in the country. He had to switch agencies a few times when they got complaints, but the agencies keep them hush hush to not lose business. It was only after he exhausted all the agencies that he moved on to his next scheme - foster children.
For several years, he fostered young female teens. If they ever sent a male he would send them back the next day with some excuse or give the kid $50 and tell him to go out and have fun and then call the police and say the kid was a runaway. He must have forced himself on to a couple dozen teens, before he discovered what he will be his downfall.
Apparently being a licensed foster provider allows you to also be a sponsor for these unaccompanied minors coming across the border. Where are all the female minors? With this a-hole and the other several hundred other sex predators who all use a chat group to coordinate their activities. They also shuttle the teens with each other which just makes them harder to find in the system. They think they are getting away with it, but they won't. Apparently the actress daughter knows what is happening and has reported him and as many others as she could discover on his computer. Now, we just have to hope some action is taken.

When you are separating children from people who are NOT their parents, but rather child/human traffickers (who are posing as their parents/guardians/family etc.), you are protecting them from predators.

What percent of the "families" that come across do you seriously think are child trafficking mules, and beyond that what makes you so sure that the traffickers they fall victim to when they fall off the books at the ICE concentration camp in a closed-down Target are going to be much more noble than the traffickers they were coming in with? I find the foreign exchange part hard to believe. My mother owned a company like that for decades and the children doing exchange programs in the US are usually from wealthy families. I hardly doubt that if any molestation was happening that these families would just keep it hush hush. It costs a LOT of money to send a children abroad as a foreign exchange student. Those going to America or other nations are usually upper middle class or rich kids, not some easy target who would just shut up about it for some cash.
I could see this happening to foster children though.

There have been some images and video of the children in cages, and the Pro-publica audio of federal agents (probably ICE) mocking the crying of young children, and it seems the children are not receiving even minimal care.

Not surprising the pedo horn is being tooted here amidst the outrage about taking kids from their families. What a great way to put the families, and anyone who wants to help them, under a cloud of suspicion. These kids aren't being ripped from their families - they're being SAVED! and anyone who objects is a PEDO! who is enabling CHILD!ABUSE!!
There may be nefarious pedophilic intent, either in separating the kids/parents in the first place, or in taking advantage of the separation. But if it's happening, it is probably not being done by who this site wants you to think it is. The more implications are posted here, the more I think it's a diversionary tactic.
