Ed Westwick Peacemaker As Leighton Meester Goes Off
Another reason to love Ed Westwick. According to a report in the NY Post this morning, a bunch of the cast of Gossip Girl went into a New York City restaurant Tuesday night and from the moment they entered they were out of control. The group was at a table and was talking really loudly and every other word of their mouth was an f bomb. Well, the table next to the group had enough and asked Leighton Meester and the others to watch their language. Leighton being the classy piece of work she is said, "f**k you! How dare you tell us to keep it down?"
Apparently some other women at the table joined in the chorus towards the other table. Then, Ed got up, and walked over to the complainers and said, "Don't worry about my friends. We should all be happy. Let's hug it up, guys."
And you know what? One of the guys at the other table did hug it out with Ed.

I don't know if I find that all that awesome. It sounds arrogant. He didn't apologize for their behavior, just told the complainers to not worry about it. Why's that a good move? I whole heartedly agree though that Leighton is a nasty piece of work.

SFG, that's exactly what I was going to say. It sounded like he just strutted over, gave that sorry old Entourage line, and didn't really 'get' or care how offensive his group was being. If that's his olive branch, meh.

I don't get it. How was that a smooth move on his part? He didn't apologize, he didn't offer to move the table, he didn't offer to pay for the complainers dinner. He didn't tell HIS group to STFU. I wouldn't have hugged him. I would have gone to the manager and told them to deal with it!
bummed. i like leighton. i had no idea she was a piece of work. i thought that maybe with her ahem, humble, upbringing she was different. apparently not.
chuck bass, however, is YUM.
i have def been in one of those groups being loud and stupid... i must admit. and honestly, i think its all about where you are and what type of restaurant you are in. There has to be places where you can go out and be loud and have a good time, too.
That said, I probably would have gotten punched in the face if I had tried to do what Ed did if someone had complained about us.

I must agree with Jennifer & Bebedog on. I also remember during the internet connection thing, Enty mentioned he had not forgotten about the readers with December b-days, I know he likes to send good wishes etc on their facebook. It's mid-January....still nada.
i'm sorry i have to laugh at posters like the Jennifer above. let's see I've been coming to this blog for what..3 years? and every fucking time Enty does a round of reveals we get a bunch or people who "knowwwwwwwww the blog" like the back of their hand and that FOR SURE it's not written by Enty. really? where were you all year round? where were you 3 years ago when it was Anna Nicole and Britney 24/7? oh still reading Perez? ya that's what i thought.
here's a tip...when you write a fucking blog 5 days a week for 3 years...after a while your writing style is going to evolve somewhat.
Enty is not a monkey or a robot,with emotions and stress and time constraints...the wording is going to different every now and then.

@Jax: Totally agree. I've been coming on the site for 2+ years and every once in awhile there's a wave of readers who think the blog's being written by someone else or two people or whatever. Bottom line is, I don't care. The site's awesome. Enty, whoever he/she/they might be is awesome. Don't care. You know Perez writes his own stuff, Ted Casablanca writes his and Lainey writes hers. None of whom I personally like. But, go there if you don't want to read Enty. This is my favorite by far, bad grammer, misspellings, adoration of celebrities I don't know, current Charlie Sheen hating, whatever. I still can't wait to read it every day.
And I'm not surprised about Leighton Meester. Can't stand her.
Jax there is also people who love the site and have been here for three years + and find the writing to be different. (Gasp)
I really don't know how to tell if a woman or man is writing but I do think the writing has been pretty noticeably different lately because I don't notice anything so for me to notice it that says something to me.
perez has admitted that his sister writes for him sometimes (and I think others), Ted has contributors and I loathe Lainey so I don't know about her. Point being that anyone who blogs and updates as regularly as the gossip sites do, there are going to be other contributors.
I have a girl crush on Leighton so this saddens me.
But I will admit that I have been in a rowdy group too and too much booze will make you be an asshole! ;-)
I agree 100% with mazemerizing. Enty could be a demented elf and I would still come everyday. I just don't think it's different.
Wow, a lot of hate left over from2009. I will agree that many people, myself included, have been reading for many years, but simply got the nerve (or interest) up to post. There are obviously some folks here that are *personal* friends with Enty and are very protective of him/her. I get it, but if people question the different style or strange mishaps I don't think it warrants "rippin someone a new one"

ah, come on - surely there are restaurants where you would consider it ok to behave like that too? Im not saying they WERE at such a place, but there are.

Linnea: I think the problem people have is not neccessarily being loud. That's fun unless the rest of the restaurant is quiet & romantic, smart people usually take a clue from their surroundings. The *F* bomb is what is so offensive. It can be heard a mile away, above all else & no one needs that while they're trying to enjoy their overpriced meal that they of course tip 20-25% on ;) ;)

Sam Wo Restaurant in San Francisco is a place you can drop the f-bomb. Cheap, fun eats.

I read that the people who asked the group to calm down were a group of lawyers and brokers. Sounds like the GG imbiciles were in the wrong place for entitlement issues.
I don't find this guy particularly attractive, but his stylist is incredible. Seriously, whoever this person is needs to be paid double.
