Joan Rivers Hurt Edie Falco's Feelings

Apparently when people make comments about clothes and what celebrities are wearing it can leave a mark. Way back in 1999 Joan Rivers called Edie Falco the worst dressed person at the 1999 Emmy Awards. It still hurts Edie to think about it.

"I felt like Carrie getting blood poured on her at the prom. My feelings were really hurt." But, even though she remembers it 10 years later and the sting it didn't stop her from taking a shot at Joan in the Guardian. "She looks like she was in some horrible fire, frankly. But whatever, to each his own. It was not a good start in the industry."

I bet she has been saving that one up for awhile.

I like this site. I have been addicted to it for about 2 months. What I want to say is this- I can't understand how a entertainment lawyer would have enough time in the day to post things on this website once a day, much less multiple times. Also I have noticed that a lot of content and wording on here seems to be from a womans point of view. I am sorry but very few men care about fashion to the extent that Enty does, thats why I think this is a website ran by a woman,or maybe a man that lets women publish for him if he is busy. I do not think that the person who runs this site is a attorney at all. No attorney would have the time for this every single day,nor would a attorney publish the kind of things that are published here. That said, I don't care who runs this site,I enjoy it very much and would love to see more gossip and less about fashion.

You might be surprised what attorneys will do.

Welcome Becki! Join the club--lots of commenters think the same thing.

Those of us who've been on board a long time and stay here don't care who/what/how/when/where/why...we just enjoy it!

@Becki:
Enty's true gender and occupation have long been the subject of speculation on the site, however we die-hards, for the most part, frankly don't care. Man/woman/martian, lawyer or fry cook at Burgerama, we simply don't think it's relevant as long as we get our fix.
Whoever it is, their style is their own and it's a treat and a privlege to have this spot where we can indulge our various vicarious fantasies about the entertainment elite (and not so elite).
That being said, welcome.
Sit back, enjoy and post or not as you please.
The only thing we ask is that you be relatively polite.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled commentary.
(stepping away from podium)

Oh, and re Edie Falco, YOU GO GIRL!

Joan can be harsh - and not just to look at (zing!)

But if it was her first awards show she would remember those bad comments. Probably used to it by now considering how often it goes on (not just to her, obviously).

Actually it's an insult to burn victims to be compared to nasty
Joan Rivers.

For me the best part of any awards show was watching Joan on E! the following day, discussing the red carpet hits and misses. I was sooo bummed when E! dropped her and she went to some cable channel I didn't get.

Read the very first posts on Ent's blog. They describe him going on a date (with a woman). He also, at that time, had a loft in the city, said he was originally from New York and had experience in the music industry while working to become a lawyer. He no longer represents any talent.

I think the living with parents and overweight remarks are to throw us off track a little. He probably is also having a little fun with the people who think he is Chunk from the Goonies.

That is as much as I can recall and as much sleuthing as I'm interested in. I love this site and the readers.

I think Edie's comment is too harsh to be warranted; I don't want her to cry or anything, but at many events in the past, she dressed as if all of her taste was in her mouth.

That plus the long-term affair with Stanley Tucci (I just read about it after Tucci's wife died in 2009) makes me think she's a fabulous actress and something of a wimpy, miserable and passive-aggressive woman.

Wow, way to bear a grudge for 11 years.

Did you see her face when Sofia called her "Eddie" last night? Funny.

For some reason I've always had a weird vibe from Edie. I loved her as Carmela, but there's just something about her...

Joan is one crazy bitch and I gotta love her for that. She's almost on Larry King's level for NOT knowing who or what she's talking about.

THAT was her comeback? try again.

It's probably a sore point and that's why Edie got so hurt and still is.

@ Califblondy, I saw that! ("Eddie")

Oh, Edie, who friggin cares what Joan Rivers thinks?

"...fry cook at Burgerama..."

That would make my life.

Wow. To me this says two things about Edie Falco. (1) Edie needs to find her self-confidence because she has dropped it somewhere 10+ years ago. (2) Edie needs to learn some GRACE. Geez, you do not make some lame insult to a person and then feel better about yourself. That's a nice lesson to pass on to your children.
