Amy Adams Is Lois Lane

I should have known when I saw Amy Adams in Target last week checking out the Superman videos. I just thought she was getting something for her baby. Damn, damn, damn, damn!!!! Oh, and she looked really skinny. Not freakishly skinny like Tori Spelling, but way skinnier than you would think. Anyway, Amy has been announced as the new Lois Lane. I am sure she will do a fine job. This is not about Amy or a bash on her it is about this never ceasing always rebooting super hero movie thing that Hollywood does. What incarnation is this of Superman? Spiderman? Batman? I think this is the third incarnation of Superman in the past twenty years, second of Spiderman and with Batman's do we count each Batman as a new reboot because if we do we are up to like 8 in the past 20 years.

Please studios, come out with something more interesting, more original. Is anyone just jumping up and down that Amy Adams has been cast as Lois Lane? I last counted there were 31 news articles about it. Really? Are there that many people interested? There were not that many for the Hunger Games announcement and that is at least original and interesting. That is probably why no one was interested.

Eh. Zzzz. I don't see her as Lois Lane. Once again, miscasting will ruin a perfectly good superhero movie.

I hope they're paying Amy a boot-load of money for playing Lois Lane because she is way too good of an actress to play the girlfriend in a super hero movie.

No, there are not that many people interested, why are you blogging about it??

Loved 300 with Zach Snyder directing but he has gone off the rails with his last few movies.

I think this is just going to be another freaky movie of his and hopefully we won't see Superman's boner like we had to in Watchmen.

But Henry Cavill is still hot thank god.

Wonder if she will keep the red hair for this one.

*update* I wouldn't mind seeing Henry's boner.

Yawn.

And this is about as creative as making movies from old TV shows.

the one who will ruin SUPERMAN is Zack Snyder:his movies are hideous( see 300 or SUCKER PUNCHLESS or his first comic movie with big blue man)but the casting for SUPERMAN is very efficient
his zombie movie was so nice,it's disappointing

I love Amy Adams, I think she's a great actress, I just don't see her as Lois Lane, though I thought Kate Bosworth was an even poorer choice. I definitely think Amy will pull it off, but I think they could have made a far better choice for Lois. I see Lois as more mature looking attractive, like a Megan Fox (but not Megan Fox) not cutsy and sweet looking with the doey eyes. I think choosing Amy Adams for Lois is just as poor of a choice as choosing Maggie Gyllenhal for the last batman movie.

Since I probably won't see it...I don't care....but I agree there is so much new in the way of fiction, so many really good writers it shouldn't be too much to ask for NEW idea's.

I care! Of course, I'm also a big comic book fan. I think mostly, people want to forget the big mistake that was Superman Returns and try to move forward with it.

I think Amy Adams will be a good choice. She has plenty of range, even if she mostly gets roles in the cutesy range. She can pull off smart, gutsy...

I do agree that there should be more original movies- but you know what? Superman's a cultural icon. I can see trying to continue it in some way shape or form. Batman too. I am tired, however, of them trying to pull out any superhero and make it work- Let's not reboot Daredevil. It's a good character and a good series... but sometimes you just can't translate what works on a page to the screen.

I saw Sucker Punch yesterday, and boy was it bad, but I think Snyder is a good director, he just shouldn't be allowed to write. His directing is the only thing really interesting to me about the remake. I love Amy Adams, and I think she can do anything, so this is good news to me.

Amy Adams? I just can't see it. Terri Hatcher will always be Lois Lane to me. She nailed that role in Lois & Clark.

*snort*

Hunger Games, interesting? Please. Everyone knows it's a straight rip off of "Battle Royale."

Here's a really good reason not to see this movie (or another Superman movie):

SkittleKitty, that's AWFUL. Shame on them! I'm so sick of greed.

I haven't seen a Superman since Margo Kidder and Christopher Reeve and that's they way it's going to stay.

In my mind Michael Keaton is still Batman too.

@looserdude - Lois is Superman's wife. On behalf of all comic book nerds, get it right. Kthx.

I love Amy Adams. Love, love, love her. She's not Lois. She's LANA LANG, Clark's first girlfriend from back in Smallville. The hot redheaded girl next door type.

I can't see her as Lois...I just can't.

mooshki said...

But she won't be his wife yet in this movie.

Speaking of Lana Lang, I'm still creeped out that Annette O'Toole played both Clark's girlfriend and his mother. Squicky!!!

The Nightmare Child said...

Semantics.

I just hate it when people refer to her as his girlfriend and not his wife.

It's a fanboy thing.

And yeah...that is kinda skeevy...but what bothers me more is Kristen Kreuk's portrayal of Lana Lang.

Christopher Reeve will always be Superman for me. I will not go see another. We won't see the likes of someone with that much courage and character again.

I think she's an awful choice. I love her, but she is too old, especially with Henry Cavill.

Re: superhero reboots-most people count the "Batman" movies as three separate reboots-Burton's, Schumacher's, and now Nolan's, starting from 1989 on. So it's three batches of reboots in just over 20 years. Honestly, I'm a Batman fan and even I think this is a bit much. Getting tired of all the hype esp. since I find Nolan's version overrated.

As for Superman, this seems a bit soon to start it up again-didn't the last one come out circa 2007, and crashed and burned promptly?

Oh, and has anyone else seen the test photo of Nic Cage as Superman? It was when Tim Burton was going to reboot the franchise about a decade ago. Cage has lanky greasy hair and looks miserable in the picture. It's funny as hell and I'd have seen that movie if it had been made, just for the laughs.
