Random Photos Part Three

Find Our Missing is a powerful show and you really should watch it.
Blake Lively is not missing and was at a special screening of Haywire.
Also there was Elizabeth Banks who looked totally different than usual.
I'm sure that at some point Ewan McGregor probably told Gina Carano that he has an open marriage.
Worst cook in the world, Aaron Carter.
Do you want to be a trained bodyguard in China? Get ready for bottles to the head.
Courtney Stodden did this for PETA. The "security guy" is her brother who lives next door with her mother.
Slow photo day so you get grainy Daniel Radcliffe photos in a car.
Nice legs Hugh Jackman. Nicole Kidman pale, but nice.
Even the police think so.

I don't know about his cooking ability but that is certainly the worst tie in the world Aaron

Aaron needs to take the advice about blending foundation that was discussed in that prior thread.

I know she's Anna Wintour's little darling and everything, but I hate the majority of Blake's non-Serena outfits.

I am not familiar with that show about the missing African-American woman, so I looked it up..I'm glad to know they're doing that now.

I wish I was Gina Carano's size. I wish I could kick butt like her, too!

Love the look the second solider is giving in the Chinese army pic. Like, Yeah! I told you that s*** hurt!

I love Elizabeth Banks since Scrubs and 40 yo virgin- she looks great.

If that trashy idiot Courtney Stodden really cared about animals, she wouldn't dye that one poor dog of hers pink. So dumb.

I started to watch that cooking show with the has-been stars, but as soon as Taylor Dane came in and introduced herself as "a very gifted singer and songwriter," I rolled my eyes and changed the channel.

Um, am I the only person whose mom told her to never wear black and brown together, Gina?

.robert said...

What was she doing for PETA? Those nutbags are completely against keeping animals as pets.

figgy said...

I wear black and brown together all the time. I have a pair of black & brown boots, even. But satin does NO one any favors.

"Find our Missing" indeed. Missing African-american women just never get the Laci Peterson type of attention that goes solely to pretty young white women. This show is a good thing. Stunning to look at those pictures and think that each one of those women is missing...shudder...

Anonymous said...

Not all black and brown should go together, there are a lot of factors at play. I would never wear brown shoes with a black outfit or vice versa.

Anonymous said...

No, figgy, I mean wear a black dress with brown shoes, or vice versa. I have a pair of spectator pumps that are black and brown, too, but I was always told that if you wear one solid color dress/top/whatever, you shouldn't wear the other solid color for your shoes/purse/belt. Whatever. It's probably one of those "no white after Labor Day" rules that few people even care about anymore.

But I still don't like those shoes with that outfit.

It's a shame that there has to be a show called " Our Missing". Any missing person, regardless of race should be able to get network attention. I know that's a lot, but how can you choose who is worthy and who isn't.

Jolene Jolene said...

Those shoes are camel, not brown. :) I love black and camel together, though those would be better if they were lighter, more a nude. I just don't like them. Black and chocolate brown...no.

Well, I hope nobody actually tries to harm or kidnap Courtney Stodden...because they will likely succeed.

Wait. Maybe this is a good thing?

.robert - actually, as a card carrying member of PETA, I can tell you we nutbags are not completely against the owning of pets. In an ideal world, animals would not be owned by anyone and I believe it's there in the policy somewhere, but in the current climate, we advocate adoption of pets rather than the purchase of animals from breeders. Very few members of PETA do NOT have pets of their own, in my humble experience. I myself am the owner of three cats, though there is a trend to the word "guardian" as opposed to "owner" ;)

There is something absolutely terrifying to me about Aaron Carter's face.

"In an ideal world, animals would not be owned by anyone."

But dogs and cats are bred to be pets. I've seen them in the wild, and they don't do so well. Sorry, I don't get that part. Although, I believe 100% that Courtney Stodden should never be responsible for any living thing, including herself. Enty, you forgot to mention that right after this picture was taken, she dropped one of the leashes and one of the dogs took off.

I wondered if that guy was her brother - he has that same slimy veneer. Also, after reading that the "birth certificate" Stodden's mom produced was written in Comic Sans font, I am also 100% sure she is not the age she claims to be. I found a couple of modeling sites that she belonged to a few years ago where she put her age as 18.

I like Elizabeth Banks's new look, especially the jacket. And I am not usually a fan of hers.

I read a statistic the other day that 30% of missing people in the U.S. are African American, while they only make up 12.6% of the population. Contrary to what some people believe, we have an enormous race problem in this country, which goes hand in hand with our enormous economic class problem. :(

RocketQueen said...

Agreed, Mooshki, though mostly in the case of dogs. Cats in the wild are actually equipped to do very well - I just watched an Oasis program on it this past week :) When I say ideal world, we're talking about one without a massive over-population of pets that need taking care of.

You could have knocked me over with a feather when I read that the blonde was Elizabeth Banks...I was sure it was Chelsea Handler!

Forgive me if you've already heard, but I just learned Sarah Burke has died. Such a loss to the sports community, to womankind, and to the world as a whole, really.

Thank you, Sarah, for everything. You were one truly kick-ass girl.

I think it's wonderful that this show is bringing to light the trememndous disparity in how much we care about those missing based on their race. How about all those women in Ciudad Juárez? NOT to take away from Afican Americans. Just saying that I hope this increases awareness on them all.

And then....We have Courtney Stoddard. Methinks this is just grandstanding, yet again, (unlike RQ who really cares) as way to get attention. Betcha Lizard and Peepaw had beef for dinner and pork for brekkies. I just cannot find her even remotely sincere.

Mel said...

Ah, jax, I see now you were on it first. Sad, sad news.

MadLyb said...

If you're not of Aryan descent, no one gives a fuck if you go missing. This is a travesty of epic proportions. Women of color seem to be thought of as "fair game". Google the "Women of Juarez". It's unconscionable that we, as a human race would sit back and helplessly allow this to happen. Sometimes I think becoming a vigilante for women's right's would be a good thing.

Anonymous said...

Califblondy, oh, don't even get me started on Andy. Every time I see him sporting that look, I just want to warn him that some day someone is going to take his gay card away. NO self-respecting gay man should dress like that. That's the kind of shit I expect from a straight guy.

Every time Andy wears black or dark gray with brown, I just know Tim Gunn weeps. And I don't want to live in a world that makes Tim Gunn sad.

mooshki said...

RQ, I saw tons of feral cats when I was in Turkey, and they were all really skinny, and lots had sores, missing tails, etc. They did not look like happy cats.

Anonymous said...

My kitty (who I miss so much) would've died in the wild. She was completely useless. She was the exception.

I guarantee you Lizard Queen is wearing a PETA shirt in hopes they'll give her a call and she'll get to do a "I'd rather go naked" ad. Although her face and body is so jacked full of enhancements, I would hope PETA would stay away from that.

Not A Ninny said...

@Tara -- the similarity between Handler and Banks has been widely noted. The weird thing is that, from the neck up, Handler looks at least ten years older, but she's actually younger than Banks.

Modern dogs and cats have been domesticated for so many years that most of them would never survive in the wild. My cats would last approximately three minutes before getting run over, beaten up or killed by a larger animal, or dying of starvation. They are fat, lazy, and used to doing jack-all every day of their lives. They are also scared of birds, squirrels, and mice, as I have seen firsthand when I sometimes let them out, supervised, in the backyard.

Outside "owned" cats live, on average, four years. For ferals, it's even less. Inside cats live, on average, 14 years. There are reasons for that. Disease, starvation, dehydration, accidents, and other animals are just a few of them.

To claim that modern cats and dogs could survive just as well "in the wild" is not only extremely irresponsible but dangerous.

And I don't "own" any living thing. The animals that live with me are my family. Not my "pets."

Also, the girl in red on the top row with the large hoop earrings on "Find Our Missing" looks just like Amber Riley (Mercedes) from Glee -- or is it just me who sees it?

I haven't heard about Find Our Missing but i will definitely tune in.

I get the questioning of Courtney's age, but why hasn't anyone from her school come out to verify or disprove she's lying?

I've actually read that indoor cats can live up to 20 years while outside cats average 1-5.

Anonymous said...

Yep, Lelaina. That's why I wrote those were averages. Our indoor-only cat we had when I was growing up lived to be 20.

Jaded said...

@ Mooshki. I lived in Turkey for a while. Those feral cats look like that because of the massive over population. The over population caused by shop owners (in tourist destinations) who actively look to breed them, so they can have cute kittens in their windows and shops as drawcards. Of course I just did my math and realised that I lived there nearly 20 years ago, so this may no longer be the case.

Mr. Carter looks like hes cooking with embalming fluid. Perfect make-up and suit for his mahogany coffin. I wonder where the family plot is.

solarpower said...

Cats that live or are allowed to go outdoors also do a lot of damage to bird populations--and when I say a lot, I mean some estimates are around a billion bird casualties. Many of these bird species are already suffering declines from habitat loss, pollution, non-native competitors, and the perils of cars and building glass.

Murphy Brown 2020 said...

I've worked with a feline rescue league and have seen *way* too many shivering litters of abandoned kittens, and I feel like chiming in.

I think Rocket Queen and Texshan are both kinda right, basically. Cats COULD survive for a good while in the wild if there were no such things as cars, cruel humans, predatory animals (like coyotes, for instance) who are geared to look at them as prey, or diseases indigenous to feral populations. If a mama cat has the chance to care for her babies, they've got a fighting shot -- which is why feral cat populations can grow to gargantuan proportions in a quick amount of time if the cats aren't spayed or neutered. Unfortunately, they have too many obstacles when it comes to their longevity in the wild, which is why their life span is typically about one or two years on average.

That said, domestic kitties are actually quite wild in nature, and have retained the same instincts their large ancestors use for survival -- that is to say, your tabby has more in common with a tiger than your dachshund has in common with a wolf.

And I do agree that people shouldn't "own" pets. That line of thinking is what makes animals disadvantaged in our legal system. A pet isn't a piece of furniture. You should think of a creature you willingly adopt as a part of your family. He should hold more importance than your car, or your couch, or the rug your grandma gave you.

The term "guardian" implies a custodial arrangement in which a human has agreed to care for an animal -- not just keep him around out of curiosity or amusement -- and that's why I prefer it over "owner."

What on earth is an "inside cat" and an "outside cat". Are you saying Americans keep their cats inside and never let me outside? Wow...to me that just sounds downright cruel...and where are you hearing this statistic that the average lifespan of an "outside cat" is 1-5 years. Good grief. Not in my country anyway - that seems absurd to me.

__-__=__ said...

I have friends who have an inside cat. Never been outside, front paws de-clawed. Won't even bolt for the door if it's open. Huge cat too. Outside cats aren't really safe these days. It's a bad idea since you can't keep them on a leash or in a yard.

So sad about all the missing women world wide, but especially here. After all, we're supposed to be civilized.

Murphy Brown 2020 said...

@sighthound -- there's a pesky little thing called ''traffic'' here in the States. I grew up with indoor/outdoor cats, and they were invariably struck by cars. Not making that mistake again. I will take the advice of EVERY vet I've ever conversed with and keep my kitties inside, thanks. They've got plenty of open windows and exposure to sunlight and open air. They're happy animals. I'm not worried, and you shouldn't be, either.

And if my cats actually WANTED to go outside, they'd find a way.

Anonymous said...

@Sighthound, in addition to traffic, there's the cold, dangerous plants and predators. I also live in a highrise so my kitty (R.I.P.) could go and lay in a sunbeam on the balcony but she was a good girl and wouldn't jump up on the railing. It's also not an American thing.

My kitties have alway been indoor kitties but I've never had a cat declawed. It's cruel. If I want leather furniture, I won't have a cat.

That said, outdoor kitties do have a shorter lifespan than indoor kitties.

EmEyeKay said...

@Mooshki - that's a real BC, that's what they look like in Washington. A friend of mine filed for a replacement and left it at my house. I carried it around with me for six months trying to connect and give it back to him, so I'm familiar with the look.

Anonymous said...

Sighthound, an inside cat is a housecat. They rarely go outside, if ever. An outside cat is one who lives outside of a house, for the most part. A feral cat is one with no home, a "street cat" or "alley cat." Being an inside cat is a pretty good life. I've only ever had inside cats, and they were all perfectly happy to stay indoors. The two I have now have to be picked up and carried out to my backyard, usually while screaming, in order to get any fresh air. They would never go outside if they had their choice. It's not cruel at all. What would be cruel would be shoving them outside and leaving them to the mercy of dogs, other cats, disease, wild animals, traffic, and mean humans.

Talk to any good vet about the lifespans of cats in different living situations. Every reputable vet will tell you it is far better to keep your cat inside.

RocketQueen said...

Thank you, Jaded and Ida. My three cats are indoor cats, and I assure you they are not deprived :)

Mooshki - cats that are never owned/domestic survive and do quite well on their own. If you're talking about city cats, that's quite a different thing. They are vulnerable to abuse, traffic, and myriad other dangers of city life. That doesn't change the fact that they can, in fact, survive quite well without human intervention. Will their life spans be as long as those who are taken care of by humans? Of course not, but I'd argue the same about any animal.

Joined the missing but not forgotten blog back in 2008.

They even send you email updates.

Just a little fact parents, over 500,000 kids go missing each year w/less than half being from non-custodial abductions.

Little known fact to school your kids on, if they are 10, 11 and above, often if they DO go missing their case will be classified as an endangered or runaway teen. Not good. The dangers are real. Just google Johnny Gosch and check out the pics of the missing kids (taken by their perps after they were kidnapped) on his mothers site. You need to see it, understand it's real, and thriving. And let your kids know, these dangers are very much alive and real. They may be gross and ugly, but it's that very reason such perversion thrives. No one wants to think about such things, until you, yourself are directly effected, and Godwilling that doesn't ever happen. However, the likely hood is very real.

**the Johnny Gosch thing is very real and a good place to start your educating. The Rocking Horse ranch was even featured on Natalie Holloway's mothers show on Lifetime.
