Bethenny Frankel Is Ordered Not To Repeat Her Hello Kitty Photo

A judge in Manhattan yesterday ordered Bethenny Frankel to stop wearing her daughter's pajamas. The photo of Bethenny wearing her 4 year old daughter's Hello Kitty pajamas was posted online and the judge rebuffed entreaties by Frankel's lawyer that it was all a joke. The judge said she didn't find it funny and had her own friends call her and express outrage about the photo. The judge said Frankel's child is not a laughing matter and now the photo will be on the internet for all eternity. I thought it was in really bad taste for Bethenny to post the photo and all it did was show how incredibly skinny she is that she could wear her daughter's pajamas and not even be all that small on her. It is hard to believe a gorwn woman can wear the same thing a four year old can wear.

I thought this was an Onion headline.

Why is a judge involved?

What?

The hell?

CoBe said...

Custody. However, it would be completely illegal for the judge's friends to contact Bethanny or her lawyer outside of court.

Ms Cool said...

Also, does her 4-year-old daughter have huge feet? Why do the slippers fit? Sounds like some pre-planning for that photo-op.

auntliddy said...

Why is a judge even involved? Pls to explain.

Kno Won said...

I hope this is /satire. If not, it's idiotic.

Unknown said...

What do you expect from a fame-whore? She's a typical example - everything's fir "sale" so long as there is a headline running somewhere with her name + pict on it. Dumb "f". Great "maternal" example.

FSP said...

She still needs to clean her room.

Kno Won said...

It's real. I googled bethenny frankel judge pajamas & there it was.

Family judge, custody hearing in divorce proceedings. Judge also told her that image is going to be on the internet forever, ridiculous.

What's scarier is her joker face, judge should've told her to stop with the Botox, that's the real crime.

Brenda L said...

I wonder if she had just posted the photo without saying anything about who the pajamas had belonged to...if there would be such an outrage about it?

Cheryl said...

I'm not really getting the outrage. Dumb and fame-whorey, yes. An issue for the custody hearing, no.

I don't follow these two at all. I know how nasty regular divorces can be though. My sister, who has never touched drugs and was a stay at home mom at the time, was ordered to undergo drug testing because of crazy accusations by her husband. He itemized almost everything he had ever bought her and had it deducted from her settlement. He managed to keep a house that my parents helped pay for.

Kno Won said...

While I think the whole pajama picture thing was stupid, the judge mentioning it is even more stupid. How many hundreds of photos of this woman in very tiny swimsuits are all over the internet? I'd much rather see her in kids' PJs.

Runswithscissors said...

Judge probably found out because her ex said she is not fit to have full custody of the child, look at exhibit A, therefore he should have full
custody, 50% of her earnings plus child support and alimony.

CoBe said...

It's very likely Bethanny and Hopper came to an agreement not to allow their child to be photographed anymore. Remember when their kid used to be all over the place? Now, nobody sees her anymore.

Runswithscissors said...

She did @Brenda, she bragged she could fit into her daughter's pj's and was criticized a lot in the tabloids.
It happened close to when her chat show was about to end, I think.
Anything to get your name on the tabloids.

I think Enty means the judge's friends were calling the judge and expressing their outrage, not that they were calling Bethenny.

CoBe said...

Thus, the judge simply extended that ban to the child's clothing.

The whole thing is weird.

CoBe said...

Ah!! Thanks Jeannie! Entyspeak still gets me sometimes!

a gorwn woman need to wear gorwn womans clothes..
bethanney is ticky ticky boom.. there is something wrong w/ her
she is the mother that has to compete with the daughter for everything.."look i'm the same size as you!!"
look your friends think i'm hot!
your boyfriend was flirting w/ me..
this is the narcissistic mother who can't stand having a prettier daughter.. pooor brynn better off w/ jason full time.

CoBe said...

I agree Sugar. Bethanny needs some mental help (not being snarky, being honest). I also think she is the answer to the blind about a mother claiming to be much wealthier than she is. Didn't she say something like "I'm richer than God"?

@Cobe, today there is a picture in the DM of Bethenny and her daughter. Not sure how old the picture is though. I love that the daughter looks like Bethenny's ex. A daily reminder for Bethenny.

How is this enraging? Seriously, it's Hello Kitty, and it's a mother acting silly. What about this guy:http://abcnews.go.com/US/embarrassing-dad-170-costumes/story?id=13783709

So...it's totally legal and accepted for anti-American Muslim groups to post anti-American hate ads in NYC anywhere they want...and the courts are sticking up for them, but Bethany Frankel is ordered not to wear her 4 year old daughter's pajamas.

Ok. This totally makes sense. The world is just getting better and better as the days go along.

Jeannie said...

It's a custody issue because it's behavior like this from a parent that is going to result in that poor girl having a severely distorted sense of self that results in an eating disorder. A child is going to understand that being the same size as mommy at age four is not right. They aren't old enough to understand that it's because mommy is a fame whore nut job trying to get attention. A child is going to internalize that and think there's something wrong with HER. Age four seems really young but if Bethenny keeps this kind of crap up, it won't be long before her daughter is really, really messed up. So it's absolutely an issue for custody.

Cheryl I had a friend whose husband took her wedding China and a rusted copper pot they would put their fireplace stick AND the fucking stick after her left her to be with his secretary. They were married for over 10 yrs. He was the lawyer and totally screwed her. I know how you feel.

CoBe said...

She just gets under my skin. I have the sense that she has used and manipulated everyone in her life. I hope the dad has more care for the daughter. It's her only chance.

Unknown said...

The pic and Bethenny are both insane. But why is the judge fielding personal calls from friends who are bitching 'bout what they saw on the interwebs concerning a case he/she is involved in? Isn't this a conflict of interest, and judgefriend should have given the info to a judge who doesn't have the pressue of pals buzzing in their ear? Just doesn't seem ethical.

Unknown said...

I noticed the shoes too.

I had an anorexic friend who took so much pride in fitting into children's clothes. It was like being a size zero wasn't good enough. She was naturally a size 8 and watching her self destruct was one of the saddest things ever.

Unknown said...

Seriously. We have more important things for a judge to worry about. What about all the cps cases that go unanswered? This is fame privilege and the judge is playing into it.

Mom proudly passing down her eating disorder issues to her daughter by posing in her four year old's PJs.

I can see her husband bringing it to the judge's attention.

auntliddy said...

Cheryl, may i say your ex bil sounds like a dick? Yeah, i thought it wld be ok.

auntliddy said...

A loose seal-totally know how u feel. Dealt with anexia with my own daughter as a teen and her friend. ( shes fine noe, all grown). Her friend came to my house to get ready for prom, and when i saw her i burst into tears! So so thin, her dress laced up in the back, and i cldnt lace it tight enough. Lousy memories. A bad place to be in your head.

fouxdafafa said...

Disgusting? Sure. Bad parenting? Not seeing it. I wonder if there is more to this story.

Custody matters.

What I need to know is why should a judge even have to order that?

Oh right: FAMEWHORE!

I thought at first Hello Kitty was suing her for infringement of copyright

@sugarbread maker--
You're completely right, spot on. I have the same kind of mother--never weighs more than 90 pounds and made my adolescence and twenties hell. I know exactly what Bethany (seriously girl needs to learn to spell her damn name right) is going to put her daughter through.
The child should be taken away from her and only supervised visits allowed.

@auntliddy. Lol

(Sorry to hear about tbe nasty, vengeful divorces. That sucks!!)

Cecilia00 said...

I understand that her doing this was a publicity stunt and stupid, and totally agree with those speaking about body image issues her daughter may have, but at the same time...this feels so "Big Brother"-ish to me. "You can't wear certain clothes in your own home (even if they are the daughters) because your daughter may develop an eating disorder or body image issues in the future" is a little too intrusive for a court ruling IMO

Cheryl said...

@auntliddy. Oh yeah. Bigtime! He kept dragging her into court until she had no money and she was left with nothing. Before the divorce, they had remodeled our mother's old house so they could sell it. The judge let her keep that house, but he removed all the new cabinets and flooring. She barely broke even when she sold it. He got to keep their new house on the beach which was purchased with a generous down payment from my parents. Lovely!

SugarTitz said...

@delete..yup same here.. this behavior is a gateway habit of jealousy and spite that will lead to her constantly competing and one upping her at every turn and having to always win and be right at everything..
oh and nothing is ever her fault..
the child or father/ ex husband / nanny will always be to blame b/c bethanny is puuuurrfect in every way

SugarTitz said...

then she will be saying "i weighed__ when i was your age.. you must get your weight from your fathers side b/c i have always been skinny..
this is just the start of bethanny passing her ed issues on to brynn

Alexa Rose said...

Did this really need to be court ordered? Her not wearing her daughter's clothes isn't going to stop her eating disorder or body image.

All of my friends with eating disorders have always bragged about having to shop in the kid's section.

AngelBear said...

If we're lucky, she'll keep shrinking, and eventually disappear!

QueenBee said...

It's rubbish that is a four year old's clothes. She can slim all she likes but she can't actually remove a section of her spine. How talk is a four year old? About half that of an adult, so if it were a four year old's pyjama top it'd be way, way shorter. But she won't admit it in case we discover she's only a size 00.

QueenBee said...

D'uh. Talk = tall

Unknown said...

i still dont get the outrage.

Glad to hear your daughter is better now. I can only imagine how heartbreaking it would be with your child. Hugs.

Suspect this is the judges way of saying, " I'm watching everything you do, so don't think you'll be getting away with ANYTHING".

Cheryl, your sister got the one thing she couldn't replace: her freedom. He will go on as he is, and suffer the natural consequences. Just now, 5 years out from my divorce, my ex is hitting his karma-stride. It's very sweet to sit back and watch the shit storm.

Unknown said...

The makings of Joan Crawford anyone?

Unknown said...

Seriously she's got to be really fucking skinny if she can fit into a four year old's clothes

Her face in that pic says it all

poppyfresh said...

Why must people always sensationalize things & why must a judge be involved? Bethenny has always had a small frame(skinny people are not unicorns, they do exist and naturally so). It was a joke, let it go. That outfit would probably hang loose on Kristen Chenoweth, she even admitted to sometimes shopping in the kids section.
