She's an old Black lady. Homosexuality is not, and probably never will be, totally accepted in the Black community. I imagine Miss Cissy doesn't want people to think badly of her dead daughter. The fact that Whitney died of a drug overdose is way less important to her mother than people thinking she was gay.
Also remember, the Houston family began as a religious singing group and I believe there is a preacher in there somewhere. It's really complicated.

LadyH, here's another one for this week. I was bitching on Monday about how my Salesforce ate a lead who was a friend of mine. He ended up calling me on Friday. We spoke last 15 months prior. Just odd! I had no way to get in touch with him but he had my #.
Cissy Houston was on Letterman recently singing back up to Aretha Franklin.......and she could hardly keep up. Frankly, I think Whitney's death put her over the edge.
Ya, I wondered wth Cissy was doing singing backup? It was weird.
You'd think she might be a tad bit concerned about her grandaughter who appears to be circling the bowl.
"Rumors"? Whitney's girlfriend traveled with the family all through the early years of her career. Cissy knew about it.

@Essie, that's too sad a statement - probably the same statement that has been said of many communities. But with continued challenge of the social status quo, a difference will be made.
