This A+ list singer had been expected at an event. A car had been arranged and press had been alerted she would be there, but apparently she still does not want to be seen in public with her celebrity former bff who had this huge honor and had to cover for the absence of someone who would have been there in the past but is more concerned with her image than anything else.

Taylor Swift, she was absent to the TIME 100 Gala but this could be BS speculation as she is dealing with her rehearsals as her tour is about two weeks away. So she does have a legitimate reason to be absent, fact is I was not surprised Taylor was not there.
I do not think they are lesbians, but the fan fiction rumors got to be too much. The whole point of "dating" Calvin was to downplay the image of her becoming a single 25 year old cat lady. She was on the verge of becoming a JOKE and needed to be seen dating and going out like a normal 25 year old to be more relateable to her maturing fan base. I suspect that TAYLOR wants to kill this angle off. With the tour and her Mother's cancer she has grown tired of this charade. Just last week a story popped up about Calvin being allergic to her cats, then a day later Calvin then started to follow her on instagram and Favorited one of her cat videos. He wants to keep this thing going because He wants the attention.
I do not think it will be long before her PR stunt with Calvin Harris implodes, TIDAL is circling the toilet drain and they are not even being seen together since the HAIM concert. I just get this feeling that TAYVIN as people are calling it is running to the end of its course.
The next event Taylor and Calvin will be seen together will be the Billboard Music Awards, I suspect He will be DJing the event so they will not be seated together, and if the press asks her a question about him the answer will likely be "I am on tour I have no time for boyfriends." She is in control of this narrative not Calvin.

The use of "fan fiction" to describe Taylor and Karlie is usually an indication that somebody doesn't know about Taylor and Dianna Agron. Or Taylor and Emily Poe. Or Taylor and the Hendersonville (TN) HS lesbians she was allegedly a "pillow princess" for, back in the day. (If you don't repay, it ain't gay, right?)
(Or Taylor and whomever she was fucking between Emily [ended December '07] and Dianna [seems to have started around March '12]. Yes, yes, John Mayer for a few months in there [disabusing TS of her last notions of hetero/bisexuality], but I really doubt she had a 200+ week drought without going back to the female well.)
Taylor knows she likes girls, however she categorizes herself these days. She cut her hair to be like Karlie (as she had said she would), apparently doing it to spite Dianna, she moved to NY to be near Karlie, and she and Karlie were together for at least all of 2014, as Taylor tried to slowly work the image of their "friendship" (and public acceptance of the possibility of more) forward. And then she blew it by getting drunk at that 1975 concert and being all over Karlie (and getting caught on film) and it's been damage control since. (Well, with a few booty call weekends thrown in during Jan/Feb, but even these seem to have died down.)
So yes, this is very disappointing (I noted it in the Random Photos when it happened), but it's not because of "fan fiction". If there was no smoke to this fire, Taylor could much more easily "Shake It Off", but she's not "Out of the Woods" yet, unfortunately.
And yes, it would be extremely unusual if Taylor took Calvin to the BMAs as her "date". Since she has never, ever gone to an event with any of her "boyfriends". Ever.
Now with TIDAL going as well as a fart in church, the plan of using Calvin to get Taylor to go all in is dead. Kanye deleted all of his tweets about the service and even Calvin no longer has a TIDAL logo plastered all over his Twitter page. It was a dumb idea from the start and Taylor knew it. If there is something personal between them, it will implode over him losing money because she did not support Jay Z's stupid scheme.
I knew there was something funny with this "relationship" when INC put up a story of Apple trying to talk with Taylor over a deal for BEATS. Why try to strike a deal with the GF of a co-owner of a competitor? That is unless you know things are not 100% between them.
So far if you read the news about those two, there so far seems to a tit for tat PR war. A story comes out about Calvin being allergic to her cats, then he follows her on Instagram and likes her new cat video. She wants to kill it, it wants to keep the heat going. In the end Taylor is the one in control. I think if anything Taylor is BI. she still likes men, but she is in a world of celebrity where the only guys are available are douche-bags. So women are the only people she can really relate to or trust. I still think TAYVIN will die at the BBMAs. She will drop a I'm too busy for a BF bomb.
All of these stories I literally predicted in my head would happen. Get close to tour, an article about them skyping. Mom has cancer, some story about how he is supporting her. Yet all the tweens and teens think these two are going to elope and get married. They are too young and not media savvy enough to read between the lines.
What is really fishy is So far all her friends who were asked about them in interviews all have vague answers, all said how is is such a great guy but never confirmed if their are a couple. ED. JAMIE and HAIM all were selling him as a BF not confirming it.
Noticed taylor just starting to follow the TOOL on twitter. Right after stories of her Glamour UK article of her being "shamed into becoming single". Yeah, in PR timing is everything. Cat Allergy story, just follow her in Instagram and live her cat video, not able to be papped together, put up a story of them skyping each other constantly.
Their entire actions are so predictable.
Well, if the "Calvin is allergic to my cats" story is something Taylor planted to prepare for her "breakup", we know where she got THAT idea, right? When Dianna Agron and Lea Michele stopped being "roommates" in 2009, the official excuse was that Dianna was allergic to Lea's cat.
Cut to 2012 and after a night of playing dress-up (presumably right down to the undies Taylor was papped buying at Victoria's Secret that afternoon) and going to the Beverly Hilton to "celebrate Shirley Maclaine's birthday" (any excuse when none is needed…), Dianna tweets a picture at 2AM of her kissing Taylor's cat, with the tag #DATE ME. (And four days later, Taylor goes to Dianna's circus-themed birthday party…in a cat costume.) So yeah, "allergic to cats" is an excuse Taylor's probably had plenty of giggles over in the past.
Hope Karlie hasn't come down with an "allergy" during the PR nonsense. And I wouldn't be surprised if there was a "rumor" of a "split" after the BMAs, either (remember, they're not even an official couple, so no sourced announcement), I just meant that their not sitting together shouldn't really be construed as being out of TS's SOP; she never brings her (male) "dating" life into her career events.
As for how Taylor thinks of herself, only her brain can say. But I think she was "waiting for her prince", pre-Mayer, regardless of what she'd done with girls ("just a phase, doesn't really count") and then he pretty much disabused her of those ideas. She certainly hasn't sought out legit het relationships since, even with guys like Will Anderson (of Parachute) whom she's maintained a friendship with. Maybe having to play PR games with Harry Styles while she was still trying to keep things alive with Dianna really made it clear to her which side of the street she prefers. (According to some reports, the Kennedy kid "summer romance" was something she was willing to accept [Dianna was away filming "The Family", anyhow], but the Styles "RS" was the product of a really insistent push by 1D's management team, and Taylor called it off early and was pissed at herself for having let them talk her into it. The fact that she and Harry apparently hated each other didn't help, either.)
Well, it will make a hell of a book someday, right?

Also I find it strange that no blind items about Taylor and Calvin have not popped up yet. This site or Blindgossip.com have not had any.
I wonder if her team is doing all she can to secure all leaks in order to better sell this PR relationship. I also suspect with her mother's cancer she might end up trying to kill this angle early especially if things go bad. The cat allergy story could have been an attempt, she then follows him in twitter right after her Glamour UK issue about her being shamed into the single life. Every move and story that came out about these two is PURE PR and subject matter and when it came out happened exactly how I predicted it on anoher message board.
