This a-hole reality star from a top rated program was asked if he had given any money to the Sandy relief effort or had any plans to volunteer to help like Ben Stiller did and the reality star said,” Why should I help them? Did they help me get to where I am? Everyone needs to stand up for themselves and if you don't have the resources to make it, then, maybe that is not a bad thing.”

Lovely. So now charitable relief for people in natural disasters is frowned on as some sort of welfare program going to no-gooders who are just too damn lazy to pull themselves up on their own.
The irony is that rich people are the ones who traditionally have given money to charities, in part because the argument is private citizens and groups should be contributing, rather than government using taxpayer money. He's just a jackass.
Why isn't this public knowledge? His fans are the ones who made it possible for him to happen. I dare him to go to Jersey.
