This former A list tweener who had to play about third fiddle on her Disney show made a little kid cry the other day when she approached the actress for an autograph. The child called the tweener by her name on the show and the actress flipped out and told the kid to come back when she figured out the real name of the actress.

Hmmm...How old was the child?
I can see a child only thinking the character name. Ashley will NOT have much of a career IF she keeps demanding child fans call her by her real name.
She needs to talk to Jason Alexander about handling this situation. (He is constantly, being called "George" and he playfully re-asks the fan (usually an adult), "What's my real name?"
And, the fan being 'adults,' apologize and say "Jason.")
It just goes to show that being on a very, very popular TV sitcom has its benefits and detractions.
She should be thankful she was even recognized.
If she was called Maddie (that hotel show), her reaction is too much, but if she called her Sharpay (the musical movies), it's undertandable as it was intended to be like the dog breed Shar pei.
