I think everyone was a little surprised that this foreign born B+ list mostly television actor on a very hit pay cable show was not nominated for a Golden Globe. I thought he was a lock. If it was not on such a crap pay cable channel he would probably be A- list and be nominated. Actually the whole thing was made up by a bunch of batshit crazy fans, actors and crew members always denied it. Balfe even told once in an official interview they're not a couple but they didn't believe her. It's not right to call Sam an idiot because of some deluded old ladies who have too much free time. They're acting like bullies and harass actors' friends and crew members.
They were acting friendly with each other in front of the cameras to promote their characters, and they're actually very cute together but they've never pretended to be a real couple. That's the problem of fangirls who can't tell fiction from reality.
