Today's Blind Items - Academy Awards- A-Hole Of The Night
It all started last month. A kind of war brewing during the Golden Globes. Oh, there have been a few potshots at other awards throughout the season, but last month it really picked up steam. This foreign born A list director who is a multiple Academy Award winner/nominee started trash talking this former A list mostly movie actor. The actor starred in one of the director's recent movies but starred in a competitor this award season. Apparently the director started trash talking the actor and the rest of the cast and called the director of the current movie a hack or something to that effect. The director went on to trash this foreign born A-/B+ list mostly movie actress who is an Academy Award winner/nominee and starred in a movie for the director. Her significant other was a part of the competition too and our director said he would never hire the significant other. This just went on and on. Our a-hole of a director did not limit himself to just trashing his biggest competition, he took shots at every crew member or actor who was competing against his film for awards.
Things got so bad that our a-hole director almost came to blows during the Academy Awards with a nominated crew member at the Golden Globes. At an event earlier this month, the pair had to be separated again. Last night, the tensions were super high. Some idiot sat the cast and crew of the three movies close to each other and during every commercial break they would start in on each other. If there had been more booze last night, there would have been fights. Our a-hole director was throwing the bird and shade at everyone who won not involved in his project. Backstage, the director got shoved by a crew member from the biggest winner of the night.

This sounds like classic David O. Russell behavior. After all, he put Chris Nolan in a headlock once. I'm too lazy to figure out the rest of the participants.
I was so confused by this that I gave up. Maybe I need colors or something - Blue Blob punched out Orange Triangle, the film is represented by the Purple Pentagon...IDK.

I actually noticed inarritu looking GRUMPY when mad max or spotlight won for one of the awards...surprised no ones mentioned that yet. I assume he's the a-hole director.

Innaritu and Keaton. I remember last year (in the Hollywood Reporter Brutally Honest Oscar Voter articles) an actress said about Innaritu's potentially winning an Oscar that only people who had never actually met him would vote for him, he is such an asshole.

Wasn't his movie the biggest winner of the night, why would one of his own crew be shoving him? I think it would say shoved by one of his own crew members if it was him.

Nah, George is pretty well liked. The director of Revenant, Innaritu (sp?) was an asshole to most people last night. The costume designer for Mad Max won & walked down the aisle past Innaritu & he had his arms folded in a really obvious way refusing to clap for her.
My husband went to congratulate him & said something like "You're on your way to being a legendary director!" Innaritu said he "already was there," but was super rude about it. Treated my hubby with disdain & from what I heard he was like that to most of the people there, except for most of the execs & people from his movie.
Yep. I think it was a blind on here but I also read about it on other sites at the time. It wasn't a blind on those sites, it was flat out said it was Tom Hardy & Innaritu.
Anytime a movie that wasn't his or a friends movie he was acting like a spoiled brat. He wouldn't clap for everyone, he would keep his arms folded even when he knew the camera was on him. I mean he's doing that because he wants people to see him with his arms folded, like he thinks people at home would see him like that & think "That person that won must be an asshole, or not talented because Innaritu didn't clap for them!" His head is far up his own ass, just like David O Russell.
