I guess he means she's underage in the States. I have a father like that. He's an alcoholic and tries to get us to drink along with him. Both my brother and sister have caved in and gotten drunk with him, but I have no problems saying no. It's very needy behaviour. Not sure why he does that.
I'd be more worried about Richie getting plastered and mistaking Ava for a groupie.
