I'm gonna guess Tiffani Thiessen as the woman. At the age of 16, she was incredulously cast to play the girlfriend of a then 30 year old Scott Baio.

ReplyDeleteGrowing up in musical theatre world in nyc in the mid 1970s. He was always spotted at the Mcburney Y gym off Times Square with older gay theater types - working the sauna and steam rooms. He couldn’t have been more than 15 or 16 himself. These were men in their 40s and 50s. This is just a cycle of abuse. Sad,reprehensible but very believable.

ReplyDeleteAny abuse is reprehensible, 100% agreed. But as a survivor of abuse, I can say that while it is also perhaps believable, the "cycle" is no excuse. I dont abuse anyone or thing, neither do my siblings.
I don't mean to pick on anyone brave enough to comment here, I just dont think Scott Baio deserves our sympathy. He's had plenty of money and access to resources to cope with his abuse, rather than repeat it, over and over.
I have read published reports about Tiffany Thiesen's disdain for Dennis Haskins (Mr. Belding). There was also a rumor claiming Mario Lopez raped her too.

ReplyDeleteAs I'm reading this, I'm listening to a local radio show and they're talking about Baio. A listener posted to their FB that when she was 15, she and two friends went to a fan event. She said that Scott hit on one of them, giving her his hotel room number and time to come over. The friend agreed, but was nieve and brought her mom as she couldn't drive. She said he was really pissed.
