Totally. I can’t believe she ever had sex with Bobby Brown. Such low self esteem. If only Whitney knew how gorgeous/talented she was and how classy she appeared to be to the outside world.
A pretty large subgroup believe that if Whitney could have been "out" from the start of her career, she wouldn't have developed a relationship with BB and probably wouldn't have ended up an addicted mess.

Same could be said about a lot of closeted people. Not the Bobby Brown part. Just the winding up with a shithead and/or wrecking your life on drugs.

When I lived in Atlanta many many years ago, I saw Whitney Houston out and about. This was not long after she married Bobby Brown.
It was late at night, maybe even into the wee small. I was pumping gas at a gas station right off the 75/85 near the heart of the city. A large black luxury sedan pulled in next to me at the parallel gas pump and Whitney Freakin' Houston got out of the passenger side!
She was wasted and her big hair wig was askew, but I could definitely tell it was her. She was talking to somebody in the car, the driver, who was making her pump the gas. The driver window was up, you couldn't see who it was, but you got to figure it was BB.
She pumped the gas, stumbled back into the car and drove away. I didn't say anything to her. She looked terrible.
This would've been roughly mid-1990s.
Whitney was a known drug user long before she met Bobby Brown.
Bobby talked about it the Showtime documentary. This isn't Bobby Brown.

Yup, she fell in love with cocaine waaaayy before she ever fell in love with Bobby B. I imagine bonding over crackrocks was a huge part of their courting process
The self-medication comes from being closeted, if her family allowed her and robyn to exist, she'd be alive and healthy today.

If Whitney had been open from the start of her career, she might be alive today, but she also never would have had the career she had. In the mid and late 80's there is no way an openly bisexual woman, particularly in the fields of R&B and adult contemporary, would have ever become that big a superstar. So while of course it would have been better for her personally, we can't simply pretend that it was an option without any consequences and that her career trajectory would have been identical.
Having said that, there were rumors about her way back then. I remember one about she and Kelly McGillis having a fight over Jodie Foster on the set of "The Accused". And I wasn't plugged into the industry at all.

Robyn never talked about it. She's probably the only loyal loved one Whitney ever had, whether they were lovers or not...
Bobby on the other hand was the one who first officially made the claim that Whitney was bisexual (in some tell-all that never got released). But it probably no longer fits his narrative somehow...
And Cissy isn't exactly denying either: She once told Oprah that she had no idea if there ever was a romantic relationship between Robyn and Whitney (but that she would not have condoned it).

No. The rumor was Whitney was a lesbian, not bisexual. Robin was the one constant in her life.

Sources claim Whitney introduced Bobby to harder drugs. He has said this himself.
If this is Bobby Brown, I am sure he is doing it to impress the Houston family in order to GET SOME MONEY from Whitney's estate, Bobbi Kris's estate, WHEREVER THE MONEY IS.
@Dusty Fairy, actually, in the beginning of his solo career from New Edition Bobby Brown was hot. Super-talented, attractive, sexy as shiz. Not my type, but my mom (who is a redneck from Appalachia and was in her fifities then btw) was hot for him back in 89, around the time Whitney met him. If he hadn't gotten hooked on drugs and alcohol like he did he'd have had a ginormous career, believe me. But, we all know what happened of course. Instead of being a crossover superstar who would have replaced Michael Jackson in the 90s he wound up being what Enty would call a one-album wonder and yet another walking school scare film about the horror of addiction. :-(

Spent some time with Jermaine. Aside from the expected Jacksonisms, I quite liked him. Pretty down to earth, all things considered.
He was very talented- I expected him to have a bigger career.
He had a major and very understandable chip on his shoulder for being in the shadow of a legend.
Growing up in Denver, with the gay crowd, Whitney was known as Bi/Lesbian and to be partnered with Kelly McGillis. This is a city where Marilyn the singer, Boy George, and George Michael were known to party before they were out. Because DenCo was hush hush. But as a teenager hanging out with the drag queens I got the gossip. I can tell you there are others who aren't out yet who used to Disco in the gay bars of Denver.

in the Let Me Live documentary, Whitney's brother admitted that he was the one that started her on drugs. She was the one who introduced Bobby Brown to coke. He didn't do it prior to dating Whitney.
