I would agree that Allen made better movies with Mia Farrow than Diane Keaton did. I do have a soft spot for "Manhattan Murder Mystery," which I found delightful and extremely funny when I first saw it. "Hannah and Her Sisters" is Allen's best film and Farrow's at the center of it, and she was also in "Purple Rose of Cairo" and "Zelig," which are excellent films.
How much did Keaton know all these years? Has she participated? Certainly Warren Beatty was known for his venturesome ways, what did she enable or look the other way (or worse) for Beatty? It's certainly possible Diane Keaton has been involved in all sorts of sick behavior for decades, or at the very least enabling / endorsing it.
I could be wrong, but when it comes to sexual abuse of minors, I don't recall a pattern of behavior with Woody Allen.
I can't recall anyone else stepping forward aside from Mia's daughter Dylan; and that story has been called into question by one of the children who accuses Mia of concocting the whole thing.
I admit the whole Soon-Yi Previn affair is sordid, but she wasn't his flesh and blood and she wasn't a child, IIRC. Is there any reason to believe that Woody's behavior with Soon-Yi was illegal?
Because there was no "pattern of behavior" of sexual abuse of minors. There was an allegation, by a furious, spurned ex, of sex abuse, that she carried to judgment ... in favor of Woody Allen. THIS IS WHY THE COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION AND MOB JUSTICE ARE NOT RELIABLE. I don't care where you come down regarding whether Woody Allen abused his daughter but carrying on like it's a proven fact is irresponsible and indefensible. And slagging people just because they disagree with you is childish.
Simple fact: The allegations is not proven. It's just an allegation. It might well be completely false, including Dylan's memories. Implanted memories exist, and recovered memory syndrome came under serious scrutiny in the wake of the debacles of the McMartin case and the Amirault case and many many other false abuse allegation cases arising from overenthusiastic mob justice in the courts. I'm glad that Diane Keaton, who is a respected actress and, clearly, a damn good and loyal friend, has taken a considered position and is standing firm.
Hey why don't you guys just come out say it if you think Ronan Farrow is full of sh!t? He believes his sister. The journalist and lawyer who broke the Weinstein and now Schneiderman stories? Those are allegations now too.
Perhaps you'd argue that Ronan is biased because he saw his father MARRY one of Ronan's other sisters, oh no red flags there.
Logical fallacy: It's not a knock on Ronan Farrow that he believes his sister. Like I said, I don't care where you come down on this story. The evidence is very confused to begin with and made more confusing by the court of public opinion chiming in with irrelevancies and logic derps. My brief is with the way it's presented.

@Mad Hominem The fact is, people have been freaking out about WA ever since he married Soon-Yi. They wanted it to be incest (it wasn't) or child abuse (again, not), or SOME kind of perversion. I get it, it's squicky, but at the same time they've been married for decades now and no, there doesn't seem to be any real pattern of behaviour with Woody.
