Is 10 Days In Rehab Enough?

Jonathan Rhys Meyers spent ten days in rehab last month before departing because of work commitments. This is attempt number four at rehab for the big drinker. I think when you start getting close to using the second of your hands to count your rehab attempts that perhaps work should not be as big of a priority as your recovery. I just don't see how ten days is going to be enough. He should have gone for at least 30, and tried for 60. It is all well and good to work and make money but if you drink yourself to death then what is the point?

Jonathan Rhys Meyers Being Sued

Last May, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, tried to board a United Airlines flight at 6am. He was stopped because he was drunk. Jonathan went on the rant of all rants and screamed and yelled and allegedly also assaulted and hit one of the women who was trying to stop him from boarding the plane. As a result, Jonathan has been banned from ever flying on United Airlines again. Do you know how bad you have to act for an airline to never want your first class dollars again? Well, it was so bad that the woman who was allegedly assaulted and hit has filed suit against the actor and is seeking more than $15K for her pain and suffering. She says that since the incident she has been unable to work and has suffered permanent physical and emotional distress. I think it is just her wanting some money. You know that in her position she has probably been yelled at and abused at some point in her career but this is the first time she has sued and it just so happens to be against a guy who has a great deal of money. Was Jonathan an ass? Absolutely? Should he be banned? Yep. Should this woman get rich because he yelled at her? Nope.

Is Jonathan Rhys Meyers Missing?

It took so long to make the announcement that Jonathan Rhys Meyers was going to return to rehab that I wonder if he has been on a bender to end all benders and no one could find him. It has been almost a week since his racial insults got him banned from United Airlines for life but there wasn't a peep from an agent, manager or publicist until yesterday when they confirmed yesterday that he will enter rehab in London.

I think it is very interesting that he still has not gone to rehab. He is just planning on it. Or, his people say he is planning on it. Maybe they can't find him. Maybe he is still out boozing and they are waiting for him to crash. I think this is why there has been no apology. If you are his manager or agent or PR person you know that you have to say sorry. If you want people to pay to see you in movies or watch you on tv, you can't just call someone the N word and then never apologize. But so far that is exactly what has happened.

Why? Maybe they can't reach him to get an apology. You would think they could just apologize for him and say it was from him, but if you can't talk to him or find him, then that proposition becomes more scary because you don't know if he agrees, or if he will say something on his own that doesn't sound like the words you have written for him.

This is all very interesting.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers Used The N Word

Ever wonder what Jonathan Rhys Meyers did to get a lifetime ban from United Airlines? Well, according to Radar Online, Jonathan used the N word after being told he would not be allowed to fly until sobering up. Apparently that set him into a further rage whereby he started addressing various United Airlines employees by the N word.

I am shocked that in the five days since this story broke about him getting banned that there has been no word from him or his reps. No trip to rehab or even an apology. How can you say those things and not express some type of remorse or an apology to the employees you abused? Now if he does it then it will seem forced and not what he really meant.

Jonathan Rhys Myers Banned From United Airlines

Let this be a lesson to those of you have access to first class lounges and like getting hammered at 7am before getting on a cross country flight. Oh, and when you get drunk you get mean and nasty. Jonathan Rhys Myers is one of those people and as he could have discovered by watching that show Airline for more than one episode. Drunk and nasty people don't fly. Once they sober up though they do fly.

Jonathan Rhys Myers was apparently so mean and nasty that even should he decide to never drink again he is not welcome on a United Airlines flight in the future. Do you know how bad you have to be before an airline doesn't want your first class dollars?

With the exception of Naomi Campbell who no one wants, it really just doesn't happen at all. I'm guessing he must have done something to a crew member that an apology doesn't fix. United Airlines confirmed the incident but wouldn't confirm that Jonathan is not welcome on their airline.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers Loves Airport Bars

I don't think Jonathan Rhys Meyers is alone in his love for the airport bar. Watching one week of Airline will pretty much tell you there are a lot of people who love airport bars. I am one of them. In the past I will admit that I may have imbibed a bit too much in an airport bar. But, in my defense, there is nothing quite like the feeling of having a Bloody Mary at 9am while you watch people scurry off to wherever they are going.

After I watched the show though, I got smart and now just drink heavily on the plane. It is much harder to get you out of a plane than to deny you boarding. Thank you Southwest for that tip. Anyway, as you will recall Jonathan had a little incident in the Dublin airport a few years ago where he was arrested in the airport for being drunk and disorderly.

Yesterday in Paris he was at it again. He got into a fight with police at the airport and did a do you know who I am thing before throwing euros at the police, telling them he was rich and then said, "You wanna hit me? Hit me!" They chose not to hit him. They were probably afraid he would start Twittering and asking for help. After he spent some time in jail and sobered up the cops released him and presumably he left the country.
