No, he doesn't have a point. If he's the father, then he should be paying child support if the child is still under 18, or backpaying it to the mother if not.
This man was put up for adoption. He's now 60 with no proof this is his father. Total shakedown.

Whoever he is, sounds like a piece of shit. I don't care if your kid is 15 or 50, if you denied being their parent and didn't pay child support, you need to make it right.
Child support and back child support is paying for all of the years you didn't contribute to the care and nurture and emotional support of your child.
Don't want kids? Use a condom or get a vasectomy.
