Some other reason like yours perhaps seems more likely to me too. His husband isn't a celebrity, and physically Jim is noticeably taller than him. There's no need to hog the spotlight when it's all yours to begin with.
1: They're almost the same height ^ 2: He's not married. 3: Nothing new. He tends not to take many pics with him.
Could be his hubs doesn't want to get known as "Mrs Parsons"
