The easy answer for me is Coney Island since it was a 10 minute walk away from my house and had a minor league baseball stadium, a great Italian place called Gargiulos and the Coney Island Aquarium, not to mention the beach and the legendary parachute jump ride. Ohhhh also the real Nathans Famous not the mall b.s.
Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. Best coasters in the world, especially the Blue Streak. As a kid I loved the train ride through Boneville too.
@sandy how times have changed!!!!
Last time i was there was in 04 and i said never again
@Sandy: Screw Nathan's. Garbage since they sold it off to be franchised. Do they even do catering anymore?
Did ya know Dee Snider is married to the daughter of Gargiulo's owner?
Anyway, best amusement park was Cheeques Gentleman's Club. They imported a lot of rides from Brazil that were highly entertaining and dying to get ridden.
P.S. As slow and jacked up as this site is today, Fugazi Enty must be flickin her bean like a fiend to the traffic #s.
Every time Wolfie takes me out on his Harley, I swear the thing stalls, or bucks, or has some other problem. It's a vicious cycle.
blue streak is AWESOME @Andrew
cedar point = my favorite too!
Cheeques Gentleman's Club bwahah @Count
Don't know what they turned Coney Island into since I left in 2006, but couldn't beat the price as compared to all the rip-offs you need to refinance your house for over in Orlando.
Schlitterbahn, New Braunfels, TX
I am a native Floridian, i was at Walt Disney the year it opened and went back pretty much every year after, until about 10 years ago. For me, its typical but it was always where magic happened. We used to go with our colored tickets for each ride, as I got older, they would hold concert events there with multiple groups at nights, and we would all pile in a car and spend a great time there. For me, there will never be one that has better memories.
Though now I prefer Universal Orlando, when we took our grandkids Axel (7) and Rose (5)for the 1st time a few months back, the magic was still there, yes its lost some of its luster over the years, but no other beat it for me. (though Circus World used to be quite fun)
Cedar Point--no contest. I still ride the Blue Streak when I go, but The Raptor is the shit! Me and my two sons got stuck on it for 43 minutes, the last car on the train. A bolt fell out of one of the supports. Solution? Take us through the ride as fast as that sucker would go. As compensation, they gave us vouchers to go to the head of the line on any ride, EXCEPT The Millennium Force, Magnum XL, Mantis.
Tivoli in Copenhagen, Denmark. Millions of tiny light bulbs, no neon. Lots of fresh flowers and actual fine restaurants, not fast food.
Hands down, Astroworld in Houston. Yes, it was always 110% humidity with 100 degree heat. Yes, it always smelled terrible. Yes, you were guaranteed to get a virus from touching anything. Yes, it was probably an act of god when the hurricane closed it permanently.
BUT - you can't beat a school trip to Astroworld in middle school where you're just turned loose with no adult supervision whatsoever. The 90s were a magical time.
Pussyland....
I live near Dollywood, so I'm gonna say AstroWorld in 1987. Rode the XLR8, wet my pants.
I go to coney island every year for the mermaid parade...an art parade with lots of seminude mermaids male and female... i think it's a warmup for the manhattan pride parade the following week...good time, I take the RV and make a weekend out of it...salsa and house music dancing on the boardwalk the day after... Ya, coney island gets my vote!
action park, NJ. jersey shore boardwalk. knoebels, PA.
as an adult, I dig epcot.
Elich's ( ? )in denver . Haven't been in 40 years but I hear it is still around
Busch Gardens in Williamsburg VA
Another Vote for Cedar Point! We lived near there for awhile when I was young, and there was something for every age group to do. Loved the log ride, wonder if it's still there?
Cedar Point here also. My faves were the Gemini & the Corkscrew. Now I'm petrified of anything racier than the Peter Pan ride at Disney.
Cedar Point all day long
Alton towers beautiful gardens stately home and really scary rides.
Enty come here to England and you and I can enjoy this place together x
That mermaid thing sounds appealing. 👩🏻🌟🦄
Ha you think enty is a girl too?
One of em. No man, straight, gay, male feminist, brony, tranny, could write some of the stuff being pumped out. That is why i sometimes differe tiat between Enty and Fugazi Enty.
full disclosure. I find myself completely enveloped/ perplexed as to identity. however I don't much feel it matters. sum of the whole sort of thing but I was taken aback to the adoration declared upon that one recent blind regarding chick from Empire. s/he truly wanted to scoop her up and make her all ok. she is not *that* hot and I truly sensed the wanting of scooping her up and making her whole/alright. if not straight up bedding her.
would a straight white male be so into her? I don't know but I dig the writing style and I bow to the inflected justice of this site. I am intrigued. call me? we’ll work it out
weeeee this site is so fun right now! no one is around I feel like I got locked in cedar point after dark and just as I started to get bored and thought sleep a good idea I found the key to all the rides!
incidentally I looked it up and log ride is no more. made me sad but then it made mention it was located adjacent to "frontier land" and that gave me sly nostalgic grin. (I just wonder if all them grotesque big mouthed carp are still around in makeshift swamps/lagoons) they liked popcorn.
goodnight CDaN! *light click*
