Sharleen Spiteri Takes A Shot At Whitney Houston
Sharleen Spiteri, who is the band Texas has never been shy about expressing her opinions. And if those opinions are about Whitney Houston, then watch out. She gave an interview to Gay Times, which is a magazine in England. In the interview she was asked about divas and she related this lovely story about Whitney Houston.
"(The word diva is) just another way of saying c**t. I remember performing at an awards ceremony with Whitney Houston, and she had to be carried down a flight of stairs. People like that deserve to be slapped. I'm all for a little bit of slapping when there's a really bad attitude. That kind of attitude is just bad manners. Some people confuse a bad attitude with bad manners, but bad manners are just a whole different ball game. You should be, if possible, locked in a cupboard or something. Taught a lesson until you're begging to come out."
Does being so drunk that you have to get wheeled out of a bar on a dolly and being unceremoniously dumped on the sidewalk count as bad manners, because if so, then I am in serious trouble.

Sharleen Spiteri has slapped Paris Hilton's spoiled little face and tangoed with Alan Rickman. She will be my hero forever and ever. Plus, she's a wonderful singer.

There are worse behaviours, though. Maybe Whitney was wearing a dress that made bending the legs, and walking down stairs, difficult.

WHO is this woman? Slapping someone who acts like a diva sounds like a great idea but the chances of her hitting Whitney and getting away are slim to none. The Jersey in Whitney would beat the crap out of her, even in her druggy/cracky state.
I agree completely, yet in Mariah's case I don't think it's bad manners, it's a simple inability to walk without falling on your ass if you don't have help.

Lady J, Sharleen is from Glasgow in Scotland where a headbutt is known as a Glasgow kiss, she can seriously look after herself, Whitney would have absolutely no chance.
She's also very down to earth with an amazing voice so she really can't deal with all the diva/Hollywood crap.

Am I the only one who finds this reasoning to be a little circular? It is a meandering elliptical path at the very least.
