Taylor Momsen Flashes An Audience
I didn't have time to talk about Taylor Momsen and her chest flashing last week, but I thought I would today. On Thursday night, Taylor was performing in New York when she deliberately pulled down her top and flashed the crowd. This was not an accident or a wardrobe malfunction, she intended to do so. The 17 year old was wearing pasties over her nipples, but the rest of her breasts were there for the world to see. There is video of the incident out there, but, I am not going to show it because even though there were pasties I still think it is wrong.
I understand she likes to shock, but she is just 17. It is not even so much the fact that at 17 she should not be doing this, but the fact that at 17, she is quickly running out of shocking things to do. These things should be stretched out over a career and not all used up by your 18th birthday. I guess she could have another "sickness" and end up in the hospital and she could throw in a couple of trips to rehab.

Know what I don't understand? How come it's o.k to see Kate Moss at 15 covering herself with her hands and a hat, but this girl can't be seen with pasties over her nips at 17. Can someone explain that to me?
The thing that offends me the most was how absolutely horrible she is as a stage performer. It's a mix of comical and cringe-inducing. We're talking Tila bad.
At least it demonstrates that she knows her value as a human being and an artist. Namely, someone reduced to flashing her chest to "shock." Next!
But she has a decent voice. Better than most. Check her acoustic performances on youtube.

See now, a 17-year flashing her boobs is far more "shocking" to me than the controversy over that Glee GQ cover last week. Having said that - this is non-news to me. Momsen drives me batty but pretty much does whatever she likes whenever she likes. As to her parents - hasn't she been emancipated since she was 16 or something? She ain't answering to nobody but herself and would be the first to say so.
she makes me laugh, but really her angle is not so dumb - i mean, she keeps everyone talking. and if she runs out of shocking things to do, she can always clean up her act and renounce her past actions and everyone will still be talking.
funny, all you have to do to have a career in this town is shock, clean up, shock, clean up. talent? what is the use of talent?
i find the best talent playing in no name bands in small bars in the desert.

On a related note, I finally saw that video for Miley Cyrus' "Who Owns my Heart" last night and wow - trashtacular. That's just the way the 17 year old are doing it these days, I guess.
She keeps saying that she is like an adult and has seen some very adult-like things in her life. Who allows her at the age of 17 to see anything 'adultish'?
Does she think T&A is all she is worth? Speaks wonders for her selfworth.
It doesn't speak well for her upbringing either.
